313lbs Reason to celebrate
I know that to many of you 313lbs is when you had surgery, so I know I have a long way to go, but I still feel quite happy this morning.
On the 1st day of gym class freshman year in high school we all weighed in together. I was 314 and the whole class knew it. It was humiliating and shocking. I remeber it like it was yesterday. Today I am one lb lighter and about 5-6 inches taller. That means that I am as fit as I have been in 21 years.
Still plan to lose a lot more, but this journey is packed with small victories. This is one of those milestones I have been looking forward to since I started.
Hope you all enjoy the weekend, even the Colts and Miami Heat fans.
Since this is a high school story I thought I should end with some high school salutations, so
Have a *****en Summer
Take is sleazy, and
Do Bongs
That is awesome. Great feeling huh?
I was in the same boat. We had to weigh in for footballl for the rosters they would pass out at the games on Saturday. When I was a senior I was at 300 and the biggest not only on the team but in the league. Whenever I hit that under 300 mark I nearly fell over. I too am about 3 inches taller now. It is an awesome feeling.
Keep up the good work.

GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Scott,
Congrats - those personal victories sure make it wall worthwhile!!!! I remember my first weigh in after surgery (3 weeks post-op), and was hoping to have lost 10 or so pounds - and, the scale showed a 43 pound loss, and I was below 500 for the first time in years............
Keep up the great work - I'm sure you have many more victories ahead of you.

Way to go, Scott!
Awesome feeling hitting those milestones along the way.
Isn't it amazing how moments like your weigh-in "can feel like yesterday"...hate those. My wife and kids like to kid me about forgeting things. I have a lot of those type moments I wish I could forget.
But.............this is about focusing on GOOD things, so celebrate and cherish these great moments and all of them that are sure to come as you continue to lose.
You'll be leaving the 300's in no time!
Take care, Brother,
Dennis
Hi Scott,
It does feel great to be at the weight you were as a teenager, doesn't it? Not sure what you're goal weight is, but I know you can do it, because of your positive attitude.
In your case, you're much taller, so actually in a lot better shape then back then. Teenagers are able to sprint around better than adults (hmm...these days not sure if even *that* is necessarily true ?!), but endurance can continue improve up into the 40's.
Congrats and enjoy your Summer too!
Dave
Hi Scott,
Congratulations. Sometimes the actual weight doesn't tell the whole story--maybe it never does. You've made a great improvement in your life. No wonder you feel good.
Those public weigh-ins in school are brutal, aren't they? The one I remember most happened when I was in the fourth grade. I weighed 93 or 94 lbs--one of only two kids to be almost 100! Not to my credit, I was delighted when a girl weighed 102 lbs and spared me the indignity of being the heaviest kid in class. I don't remember her name, but I will always remember her face. She tried not to react, but I saw the hurt in her eyes.
Let's hope everyone *****ally needs WLS can get it and share our good fortune. And let's try to spare as many kids as we can the humiliation of being singled out in hurtful ways.
On a "lighter" note, I haven't heard the word "*****in'" in a long time. Makes want to look for my old body surfing trunks. On second thought, no it doesn't.
Onward and downward.
