Do you wish you had RNY instead of Lap Band?

Hello Gentlemen - I have Lap Band surgery scheduled for May 24.  I am 39, 6'2", 292 lbs. I am VERY concerned that I will not lose the same amount of weight with the Lap Band as I would have getting gastric bypass. Does anyone have regrets about their Lap Band?

Not once . I have done very well with the band .  I have gone from 348 at my largest and now Im at 220 lbs . I am very happy I did this and wouldent have it any other way . But that's just me . Nick

5'9"  currently 248 lbs   lost 70 pounds since April 2006 Size 52 pants -->> size 40 3XL shirts -->> 2XL Shoes are smaller, much more energy I eat normal meals in evenings, about same portion as wife's  weight loss is slow and steady the key to lapband is getting the right amount of fill where you can eat comfortably, not get hungry for hours;  this took several fills, every 4-6 weeks so it took several months to get the ideal sweet spot.  Take a look at my profile if you wish. *no regrets for me*   good luck  with your journey

No regrets here. I lost as much and just as fast as most RNY patients - 155 pound in less than 10 months. I have gone fron a 56 inch waist to a 34 inch wast pants and a XXXXL shirt to a Med/Large. No regrets here, but its a personal choice and any WLS will work if you work with it. Good luck with your decision :)
