I stoped worring about hair a long time ago . Look at the bright side , you wont have to spend money at the barber shop anymore . I cut my hair myself .  Ever wonder why they charge a half bald man the same price as a teenager  with a full thick head of heair ?  Nick PS (  Hi dave, I will talk with ya this weekend )

Oops, female kicking in an opinion here.   I didn't see anybody suggest what worked for my hair loss, so I thought I'd inject my 2 cents worth. I started having significant hair thinning at 15 months post-op.  My scalp was shiny and visible through the remaining hair all over the crown of my head.  I'd been taking  biotin since before surgery, and got in plenty of protein each day so I knew it had to be something else.  At my 12 month lab work, my ferritin levels were suddenly  pretty low; 18 months even lower (13).  The hair loss became noticable at around 15 months.  Searching on the internet showed that ferritin levels are related to hair loss.  I don't know if there is a male-female difference on this item, but it might be worth  checking out.  I started taking 2 Gentle Iron capsules each day last  August.  By December my ferritin level was back up to 36 and new hairs were finally sprouting.  I'm still a bit thin in the center of the scalp, but it is growing in from the edges. Hope this helps,

Sue .

Anyone hear that the balness drug Propecia makes you impotent? Isn't that why we wanted hair in the first place?...

Hey Scott, I started losing my hair big time about 4 months out.  I got really concerned.  But then about 2 months later it just kinda stopped and grew back.  Now I have to cut it more than I think I ever did.  Must be all the protein I take in now.  Dont sweat it, it will get better.  Good luck. Scott, Nothing to add except to say- Don’t worry about it.  Stress causes hair loss as much as just about anything! Yep, it grows back. Nope, This is one of the WLS Issues I didn’t deal with- (never lost a hair!  Thankyou genetics!!) I, noticed that your question brought some old fish up from the bottom- (Hey Card’s Fan and Derrick!) Hang in there Scott, Keep your protein levels high and stay on top of your vitamins….. Same ole advice for nearly everything… Best Wishes-Mike Wazowski Dx

Thanks to each of you for chiming in.  I know I have not been getting as much protein as I should, so I will step it up and ride out the hair loss storm.  Its easy for me to forget that I don't digest food the same as everyone else, so more protein is necessary.  I'll keep you all posted.
