What about tortilla chips and salsa???
Not sure if they're good or bad. All I know is, if someone else brings them home, I'll finish them off. I never have the desire to stop off and buy anything like that, which is very different from pre-op. Self-control from an operation (?!?). Go figure Could be partially due to the fact that I let my wife do all of the shopping (housewife). I've set foot in a grocery store maybe five times since surgery.

If you cant eat the chips then try pork rinds with the salsa . The pork rinds are pure pro , granted they have a lot of fat but you cant eat very many anyway . I had lap band and at two months out there was no way that I could have eaten chips of any kind . I am about 1.5 years out and at goal . I have been for a while now . It is still hard for me to eat some of those things . I can eat rice and some pasta but I have to eat the pasta very slow. good luck which ever way it goes for ya . Nick
I love chips and salsa, but at 6 weeks out, I'm choosing not to eat chips, bread, pasta, rice, etc. I have been able to tolerate everything I've eaten so far, but I'm choosing to avoid these things so I can take full advantage of my "honeymoon" period. I have/had 275 pounds to loose since surgery, and I want to do everything I can to make my goal. I have found a couple of alternatives though that i will share. I bought some turkey pepperoni (lower fat, and still tasty), and put in microwave until they turn crisp. Make sure you put paper-towels under and over them as you cook them, otherwise your microwave will be covered with grease. It doesn't take long, so just keep checking them every few seconds to see when they are crisp, and dip them in the salsa. The other thing I made was "Parmesean Cheese crisps." Just lay out round disk size flat piles of Parm Cheese (about the size of a chip) on a non stick cookie sheet, and bake at 350 for a few minutes. I sprayed with cooking spray first just to make sure I didn't end up with a mess. Jus****ch them until they just start to brown, and remove. Let them cool and they set up firm and easy to dip in salsa. They aren't the doritos/tostidos etc I used to eat by the bagful, but they satisfy my cravings. I also know that the longer I go without the bready carbs, the less I physically crave them. Anyway - just wanted to share what I've been doing in this area. I LOVE salsa and use it on everything - eggs, chicken, ground beef, etc. Luckily my tummy/pouch loves the salsa too, or I'd be a sad puppy!!! Chuck
