Hi Everybody, I've added my before picture to my profile in the photo section. Looking at it really solidifies my need for W.L.S. Not only do I look morbidly obese, I've really felt like crap for the last week the Dr. took me off all my pain meds knees, ankles, feet, and back have hurt like I haven't felt in years. I'm looking forward to the hospital pain meds. I know when I knock a 100 #s off I will fell much better. Thanks again for all the support. Steve

Hi Steve, You will indeed feel much beter after you lose 100 lbs. But. guess what? You'll feel better before that. It's surprising how good we start to feel as the weight goes, even before the poundage totals seem "big." I know in my case I developed this goofy sort of "fatty thinking" that had me dismissing "tiny" loses of 15, 20, 25lbs. As a consequence, I didn't bother! I was a black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinker for too many years, If I didn't get big results from a diet INSTANTLY, I gave up. Boy was I wrong. WLS has been teaching me that many things affect my sense of well-being and happiness and that living one day and one tempation at a time pay off. So hang in there (as I know you will). You've got a good looking family. Just think how much more fun you're on your way to having with them--and how much more time! Thanks for the posting pics.

Steve, My thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow… but you won’t need them.  You’ll do fine and be sitting on the loser’s bench before you know it. I just read your Saturday’s blog about eating sweet and sour chicken and a steak.  Don’t worry about missing them, as you won’t have to.  Once you get back to eating normal foods you will be able to enjoy them again.  The only difference will that it will take a much smaller portion to be satisfying, and it will taste just as good. Doug is right about how quickly you will start to feel better.  In a couple of weeks you will have lost 10 pounds or so and you will start to notice the difference.  The aches and pains you have grown accustomed to living with over the past year will quietly go away.  It won’t be long before you will feel better than you have in years. Good luck to you tomorrow.

May Your Lantern Burn Bright,
Paul
