April 50 Mile Challenge - Checkpoint #2
Howdy Gents!
I worked out this morning and realized we're ready for checkpoint number two for April. Here are my stats thus far:
Last month: 96 miles
Miles April 1 - April 9: 34 miles (20 biking)
Miles April 10 - April 20: 64 miles (34 biking)
Miles through April 20: 98 miles
Goal for April: 100
Percent of Month elapsed: 67%
Percent achieved towards 50 mile goal: 196%
Percent achieved towards 100 mile goal: 98%
Numbers increased dramatically in the last ten days due to my being able to work out in the morning as well as the afternoon (I like to call them two a days. Makes me sound like I'm a football player). My spinning classes are getting a little easier as I know what to expect. Lifting continues to go well as I push for higher weights and more sets as my body permits.
So how are you doing? We're in the home stretch for April and here in Baltimore the weather is FINALLY going to be nice this weekend. I'm going to dust off the golf clubs (It's been about 5 years) and hit a driving range this weekend with a buddy of mine. Also going to get in some yardwork and gardening with the kids. Should be a great time!
Would love to hear any updates you have.
Stronger everyday.

Hi Dan (& everyone else),
Been a good month so far....here we go:
Last month: 115 miles
Miles April 1 - April 9: 49 miles (30 stationary bike)
Miles April 10 - April 20: 63 miles (52 stationary bike)
Miles through April 20: 112 miles
Goal for April: 100
Percent of Month elapsed: 67%
Percent achieved towards 50 mile goal: 224%
Percent achieved towards 100 mile goal: 112%
As I'm not yet at a point when I can get back on my road bike and crank out some "real" mileage, the crappy weather doesn't keep me from my appointed rounds with the stationary bikes down at my local gym.
Looks like I'll be revising my mileage goal upwards again for May......I'm likin' this trend!

March was a terrible month for me. Really no totals to compare to.
April has been spotty, but a drastic improvement. I have started with a personal trainer and working out 3 days a week with him. That helps except I still travel. So far April on the stationary bike the totals are:
43.32 miles for a total of 220 minutes in 9 sessions.
I had wanted to hit 100 miles, but will be very happy with 50.
The final stretch is in sight! Maybe 75 this month.

That's great BIGGS. I went out to a driving range with a buddy on Saturday for the first time in five years. Hard to tell if there was more rust on me or my clubs. Started to get the ol' 150 yard drive back in line towards the end of my medium bucket. I'll look to get out and walk a course sometime this spring as well.
