I was denied but not for anything on my behalf the PCP did not correctly do her Paperwork so now they say I have to do another 6 months of supervised diet.

Ugh. Well, I see two roads. Rock the 6 months, and be über prepared for surgery. Or, force the slimey *******s to accept your appeal. Either way, we're rooting for you. --Jake

Dan I wasn't denied, but I fought the 6month diet requirement by speaking & communicating with the medical director at my ins co.  I took a sample letter that I found on OH and customized it.  3 weeks later I had my surgery.   Don't take this crap from them, the 6 month diet and denials are just their way of try to make us go away so they don't have to pay and I am sure that it works on some people.   No  I will email you the letter i sent and the sample letter that i found here on OH.  Let me know where I can email you these word documents?  my email is [email protected]  Chris

Keep your chin up Dan, I know this is bumming you out , but try to stay positive. Stay on your PCP to get the correct paperwork submitted in as quickly as possible. Dennis

Try calling the insurance corp and asking what was incorrect with the paperwork and how you can have the pcp fix there mistake. This happened to a friend of mine and was corected. The pcp resubmitted the paperwork to the carrier explaning that it was incorectly filled out and the carrier excepted it recinding the cancelation. STAY ON THERE BACKS!!!!  KEEP CALLING TO GET THEM TO CORRECT AND RESOLVE THERE MISTAKE!!!! Thats what you keep dolling a portion of your paycheck out for!!!!
You can gain knowledge from anyone.
Keep an OPEN MIND and you will learn.

Hang in there Daniel.  I was turned down once and said ---- it!  I paid for my procedure out of pocket.  (credit line on my house)  I thought what the heck, at least this way I get the surgery  I want, and I can write off the interest. Kent

I could pull the money out of savings to have surgery but that is not the point I have been paying for this insurance for years and other than my trip to the ER last week and the appointments related to this procedure it has not been used in over 10 years.

If yu can get the PCP or Surgeon's ofc to fix the flawed submission, insurance should change their verdict.  The new six month garbage is if you leave things as they are.  Don't roll over now. They snagged you on a technicality that can be fixed, espcially if it comes form the PCP or Surgeon, or better, both.  You must be close to getting approved otherwise.  Keep digging and pushing.  It sounds like you are on the brink of approval.
