I just got off the phone with DD's wife, Sara. His surgery was scheduled for 9:30 this morning, but they had an emergency case come up, so he didn't go in until 12:30. It took about 2 hours and he was in his room about 5:00 tonight. He was up walking around 7. He was in recovery longer than expected, but everything went fine and he's resting now. I'm sure he'll be in here as quick as he can giving us his version. I hope to call him Friday night before I head out for Michigan and hope to meet him next week.

thanks for the update. i was first in line of 3 surgeries for that day. however, i held everyone else up for and hour and a half. they couldn't get the tube down my throat for anything. they finally gave up and went down my nose. i hope he wasn't hanging out freaking out or anything. some guys can't handle the waiting. it's good to know he's ok now.......carbonblob
Sing with me, "the waaa-aaii-tting is the hardest part!!!!!!!!!!" I was in pre-op (in a curtained area by myself) for about 2 hours because the patient before me was having "complications." A well-meaning nurse kept popping her head in giving me updates... It was rather stress-inducing!!!!! However, the main thing is my surgery went without a hitch, and sounds like DD had the same experience.........
Thanks for the update Floyd - sounds like DD came through without any problems. It's always great to hear updates after someone heads off to the hospital.
