Hey guys,
No, contrary to popular belief, I have NOT allen completely off the face of the earth. I AM alive and well. I have had the few weeks from hell though, but I am OK. I went for my 3 month check up an April 9th, and it was not good news. I had only lost 24.5 pounds in 2 months since I had seen him. I almost fell on the floor and started crying. Doc says at 3 months post-op I should have lost 30-35% of my excess weight, and I have only lost 19%. Big difference. I'm still down a total of 60 pounds since surgery though. I'm going to up my protein intake as well as the water intake and see what happens. Doc wants to keep a short leash on me and see me monthly for the next couple of months, so that is a good thing, just in case something is wrong. Doc just seems to think I am a slow starter, and in another month or two, the weight loss will explode. I can only wish for that to happen. I'm exercising 3-4 days a week...up to 25 mins on the treadmill and 20 on the elliptical. So, I'll keep a real good food diary for the next month and see what whoopens. I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, so I'm really hoping nothing is wrong to keep the loss down. Doc doesn't think so. I have started back to school, so my time is VERY limited now, but I will post as I can. Luckily, I get a nice break in between classes, and I have unlimited computer acess, so that's a good thing. Take care guys, so sorry to those who have missed me.

Hey Troy, don't panic. I was a slow starter as well. It seemed like took a long time before I started to loose. When I increased my calories it seemed to kick in. I think my body had went into starvation mode. Hang in there you will get going soon, then look out. pan head

Troy, Good to hear from you.  Of course, you were missed.  Some people lose at different speeds than others.  It sounds like you have it under control and the pounds will disappear.  You've lost 60 pounds since surgery and that is great.  Take care.

60 is nothing to sneeze at my friend.  I am glad you didn't have to go back in the hospital for anything.  I started out witth 33 lbs by then tapered to 4 lbs followed by 10 pounds.  Since then its been chuncks at a time after multiple weeks of nothing.  SO be gald the Doc is paying attention but if you keep with the program, those pounds will fall and yuo will be joyful. Good to have your smiling face back amongst us.

i agree with everyone else Troy, don't flip out, you are losing more like the women which is a lot slower in the beginning. not a big deal, you'll start losing big time and even if you don't, it's not a race. you'll reach goal maybe just a little longer. so it sounds like you're doing everything right so just stay in that place and the loss will come. hang in there......carbonblob

Hang in there, Troy!  I know the pounds will be dropping off in no time!  You're body probably just didn't know what hit it and started hoarding fat. Ken

I forgot to mention one of the biggest reasons I have not been able to be on the board as much...my wife had to have emergency Gall Bladder removal!!! So, aside from all of the other bullcrap I'm having to put up with, I am trying my damnedest to take care of her as she recouperates from her first surgery EVER!!!!

I CAN CHANGE, I WILL CHANGE, AND I WILL BE HAPPY WITH WHO I AM.

Troy, **ONLY** 19% of your excess weight in 3 months!  You Slug!  Just kidding, of course.  Sounds great, and remember, NOT everyone follows the same course.  Sounds like you got a good MD...changing to monthly visits shows he's on top of things. Best of luck Brother!  Keep up the good work. Dennis
