Hey guys, came home to visit the family here for Easter.  I forgot my CPAP for sleap apnea.  I've been using one for about 9 years now and have never been able to sleep without it.  Well, this weekend I did sleep without it.  I actually slept better without it and I was sleeping on a sofa bed.  I was in utter shock.  Sorry, had to share and stink up the joint a bit.  Not sure if I will be completely off of it yet, but It's nice to know I am close. Have a Blessed Easter. Greg

Greg, Great news.  It must have felt really good to sleep without the cpap and hose. I haven't been using mine for the last month.  It just seems like too much air anymore.  I have been sleeping great without it.  My wife reports no snoring.  And I am well rested.  I just need an official visit to my sleep doctor to make it official. Happy Easter. Jim

I slept the week post op without it. Cmae hoem and used it for a week and wondered why.  I was done.  I bet you are too.  Another obesity relatd comorbidity bites the dust (wish I knew what the heck I just said but it did sound medical,....didn't it??) An excellent FART.  another milestone on the journey to the studly new you. Happy Easter.

Not stealing any of your thunder but just PASSING my own along, too. I have not used my CPAP since surgery.  I am sleeping better now than I have in 20 years!!! Last night, I thought I would just give it a try again and see how it went.......maybe an hour into it, I pulled the mask off, rolled over, and went to sleep for the next 12 hours!!!! Loving this tool everyday!!!!

Thanks guys, great to hear about all your success with this as well.  I was planning to wait another 10lbs or before trying.  This forced my hand.  Tonight we are back home and in the same bed as my wife.  Hopefully I'm done with it and there is no snoring.

Congrats to all.  It sure does stink in here.

Paul Agreed.  I have had my preasure turned down from my sleep doc. NOTE to all:  I am applying for new life insurance next month, and speaking to my ins broker he asked me if I have been wearing my CPAP because my coverage could be affected with a higher rate if I stop wearing it with out my docs saying that I no longer have sleep apnea.  Just sharing what I have been told. Rock 'n Roll! I am off mine, too. Have the wife, or someone, monitor your sleep to make sure you are not still stopping breathing. Just because you are not snoring, does not mean you are stopping breathing. As others have said, a new sleep study is in order. You will want it to get the condition off your records anyway. I am waiting until my weight gets even lower before scheduling mine sleep study, just to make sure I pass with flying colors. The CPAP is a real mixed blessing. While it probably saved my life, I still felt a little like Darth Vader every time I hooked up to it. Light a match! JP
