Hey Guys,

Sorry I haven't been communicating much lately. I'm still busy with work and other things. I am approaching 13 months out, so I thought I'd post this reminder of how things used to be.

A look at the legs might tell you why I can squat so much. Hard to believe I was running for an hour once or twice a week at that weight!

Best Regards,

Dave

Fortunately, the old fellow has always stayed proportionate to my original leg size! Sorry, couldn't resist that one!

Hello,

I've been back, just not posting/ mailing very much. The guts are better, fewer flareups. I tried Lactaid when I was back in the states. It doesn't doesn't seem to make much difference either way. Still scheduled for mesentery defect repair/ prevention surgery on the 16th. What I've got is trapped gas that came on suddenly during the 12th month after a final 10lb. loss.

Best Wishes,

Dave

Good to keep those reality checks around for continuing motivation. I got those legs too When I saw my legs compared to the othrs I ran with in the 10K I thought, yep, got some more pounds to shed,.....tree stumps versus chicken leg man i'm standing beside. The canned water and protein meal and that (ouch) chair , must have been good for the back, not much in the way of cushion there either. Glad you recovered. Hope you continue too with the current ailment(s).  Any new news or progress?

Hi Joe,

The chair was actually pretty comfortable, for some reason.

Doing much better now, thanks, but still have to have surgery.

Keep on Runnin'

Hehe...good one Russ! But so true...if these walls could talk I'd have to change my name to something even less revealing than Toadlats and go into hiding!

Hi Dave, I am glad you're back. Thanks for posting the photo--it's a great reminder of how impressive the results of WLS can be--miraculous, I dare say. I hope your surgery goes well and give you relief. By the way, the concern expressed on the board by so many guys while you were MIA is a testament to how much we value you and your contributions.

Hi Doug,

Glad to be back (I was away all of two weeks!) to this great bunch of supportive guys. Still haven't caught up with all of my e-mail, but I've never been a very good writer anyway.

The results are miraculous, not only in appearance but also cardio ability. I'm now able to out-exercise the 19-20 year olds on our universities baseball team. I was working out in the gym at my workplace and they were pretty impressed that I could do heavy deadlifts and barely get out of breath. When combined with a lot of hard work, the results can be almost unimaginable.

Thanks, I think this surgery is relatively minor, but I'd still prefer to avoid anesthesia. I don't like the way I feel after that - not that I want to have surgery without it or anything like that.

Best Regards,

Dave
