Dave, The easy answer is the calcium pills and reduced amount of fat intake will bind you up so take Colace pills to get things moving. They are a stool softener without a laxative so they will not make you dump, they just make everything easier. I have been taking one to two a day since I had WLS last year and they really do the trick. They were recommended to me by my doctors at Duke where I have my RYN. You can find them in must drug stores but I buy the generics version at Wal-Mart, 60 pills are about 5 bucks. Wally World has really good prices on vitamins, sublingual B-12, calcium citrate, priosec OTC, and potassium which I take every day along with the Colace. I finally broke down and bought 4 weekly pill trays so I can lay out all my pills once a month and just open a tray and take them all at once each morning. A lot easier that opening all those bottle everyday.  Good Luck

Are you taking the small over-the-counter Colace pills?  Those didn't do a thing to help me either.  But much later (I am 11 months out from RNY Lap) a different doctor prescribed the liquid colace for me with 15-20 ml to be taken twice daily and look out charlie did that open things up!  Other factor that really helped was getting 3 months or so out and being able to eat green salads (small quantity of course) and some veggies.  No longer needed colace at all.  Even now nearly a year out and eating most normal foods I take a BM maybe every 2 or 3 days, pass it easily most times, and with a before and after weighin on a scale supposedly accurate to .2 pounds I can verify an instant weigh loss of at least 1.25 and sometimes 1.75 pounds.  Hang in there it is worth it.  I got to goal of 180 seven months after surgery, was 267 at surgery and 304 max before beginning the program, and have held within 2 pounds up or down since then.  Best wishes.
