50 Mile Exercise Challenge - April Style

Howdy Gents! We had fantastic participation last month for our exercise challenge. You are once again invited to participate in our exercise challenge for April. It doesn't matter whether you're pre-op or post-op, there's no better time to get into an exercise routine that will quickly become a healthy habit. Now, we've got some guys on here who started off not being able to walk more than a few miles per month who are now training for iron man competitions and running marathons. We've got guys who bike 500 miles a month and who lift weights to really bring out muscle definition. PLEASE do know that even if you're just starting out that we all had to start somewhere and nobody thinks any less of you if you aren't making huge mileage challenges for yourself. This is simply meant to be a fun way to keep track of your progress and hold yourself accountable to the other guys on the board. So, are you in? It doesn't matter whether you walk or run or bike or swim or canoe. We're encouraging people to shoot to get in at least 50 miles of exercise this month. I almost hit my personal goal of 100 miles last month, but fell just short at 96. I'm going to shoot for 100 again this month. I'm starting this afternoon by taking my very first spinning class. Hopefully I'll be up to the task.  Do me a favor and reply to this post if you're up to the challenge. Also send me a private message with your email address if you are interested in a spreadsheet to track your progress. Stronger everyday. -Dan

I 'm in........however I will shoot for 120 miles this month. Still walking my 4 miles a day!! Have started some weight lifting nothing exciting just some upper body stuff 2 -3times a week. Take care BIGGS

Dan, I'm going to try to hit 50 miles this month.  I'm going on vacation last 10 days of April and first couple days of May.  Not sure how much I'll do on vacation. Floyd

Shoot for 50 and you'll get there by the time you're on vacation. Get close and you'll probably get there while on vacation. Good stuff Floyd.

I'm off for a week of travel so I hope I can get in one good work out a day.

guess I'm up for the challenge, 2 months out,  i have to walk everyday it seems or I go crazy, walked 1.25 miles yesterday,  and 3 miles today.
