FART in the Shower....

So I'm getting my 4 year old son bathed this morning (we share a shower), and he says, "Daddy, why are you shrinking??", to which my response was, "So I can chase you around the back yard."  It's nice when the people around you notice and you know they aren't just saying something to be nice. I'm down 79 lbs - and feeling great !  Went to Seattle this week, and ate at two of my favorite big beef restaurants without incident (the Metropolitan Grill and Ruth's).  At both places, I ordered fish, and enjoyed my dinner.  I didn't realize what a toll the extra weight was taking on me - I took stairs with luggage this week, and it wasn't a big deal.

Good stuff, isn't it? My grandson said something similar to me on our most recent visit. I am still surprised at how much of a toll the weight was. I guess it's because we acclimated to it pound by pound until being abnormal felt normal. But enough jabber: Congrats and keep those FARTs coming!

Wow, two great stories.  You gotta love kids,....they just call'em like they see'em. The restaurant and luggage experience is significant accomplishments.  Congrads for not barfing  or getting winded,  respectively.  Ain't this new life something great?? Thanks for sharing.  It good to appreciate the little things that we sometimes take for granted.

That's terrific.  I have a 6 year old that I have challenged to a race in about 3 months....Oy, I better get going.

Thanks for stinking up the joint.

Ah yes, the incredible shrinking Dad syndrome. I hope to catch a major case of that myself.   My hope is that eventually, my kids will never remember fat. 79 lbs. is a major load my friend. Congrats. By Memorial day you'll be down over a 100 lbs. Bet on it. Is the airline seat belt extender a thing of the past yet? I'm waiting to hear that fart, Bro. Keep it up. DD

The airline seat belt extender lives on.  I flew to Seattle last week, and needed about 6" of extension.  I'll make a big post when I go without the first time- even if I'm wedged in like a sausage in a tourniquet.  Who knows - around the end of the year I may give it away on the board.  It works on Delta, American, United, Northwest, USAir, and just about everyone except Alaska and Southwest.  Either way, I figure it will be July 4th before I fly without extension. If any of you pre-op big guys are road warriors like me (100K air miles in 2006), you may want to buy your own seat belt extender (especially if you've got a long wait for surgery.  I bought mine in 2005 after having to move seats on a commuter plane because they ran out of extenders - got it from http://www.supersizeworld.com/air-extend.htm.  I'm looking forward to retiring the extender, and just being a regular bloke. Biggest problem right now is the Moobs (e.g. Man Boobs).  I have a big rack, and it's not going away fast enough for me.  Maybe I need to contact Kramer and Mr. Costanza and see if I can get one of those Bros for some support.... (ha ha). Carbonblob, I'll be in touch for some weight exercises soon.  Have to get three months out before I can do much strength training. BFT
