FART - Yardwork, no sweat

Hey guys, had to share a FART with you today.  All of a sudden my wife starts complaining about how bad the front flower beds look.  I'm dreading this because the last time it took some 40 bags of mulch to do it all.  We were going to hire someone but they said that would take 4 weeks to get to it.  So last night she's complaining about it again.  So off to Home Depot this morning at 6:30am.  Picked up 28 bags, loaded onto the cart.  Pushed the cart through the store, loaded up the van, unloaded the van, spread 15 of the bags (which covered the area - must have been a miracle or I was a dufus last time), reloaded the 13 bags into the van, loaded them back on the cart for the return...why the litany?  Because I didn't break a sweat the entire time.  Mind you it was 65 or so degrees, but pre-surgery I would have wasted a shirt, shorts, etc.  head to toe in sweat and been wasted the entire day.  Today, we finished that, went to my son's soccer game, off to another event at our church new building grand opening, and was still going strong.  I'm just blown away.

Ain't it sumpin' how good work can feel after WLS? If you keep this up, next time you might be blown away for real! Congrats.

Thanks Doug.  I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to summer this year.  That's still hard to get my mind around.  I can wear long sleaves at 75 degrees and not sweat or even feel uncomfortable.  I don't remember ever feeling this way, even when I weighed less than I do now.  Nice feeling for sure.

Hey,...thanks for the post. I cut my grass earlier this week and did it all without stopping in 1 hr.. It had been taking me 2 hours with 2-3 breaks.  So I understand where you are coming from.  That is still quite abit of lifting and moving for no sweating.  And additional activities that require LOOKING GOOD afterwards,...or were you juz showin off at that point??? That is a great accomplishment and you should be amazed.  Ain't it sweet being able to function like that again.  Thanks for sharing,...but don't be changing clothes in any nearby telephone booths,...that would really get the neighbors talking.

No worries there Joe.  I said I didn't sweat much....but I was plenty sore and walking like an old man ;-) Congrats on the found energy and time.  You just found another hour of your life for each cut.
