The PCP saga continues
I am much calmer than usual adn there really is no surprises here YET. Through my sources at the office I have found out the referral was denied administratively by the offcie and never sent to Blue Cross. I will be getting an official letter next week sometime. I have call into the PCP for a "showdown". Really just to make him incredibly uncomfortable. I know there is nothing he can/ will do for me.
I have started the process of finding another PCP but don't wnat to leave until I have all the copies of medical records, that takes 7-10 days. I have also met with the Bariatric surgeons at USC and they are going to help me with a more WLS PCP once they look at my records.
Just wanted to update anyone who cares and it helps me deal with the frustration.
That is a real poke in the ,....eye. Sounds like you are handling it well as I have seen no hostage taking events on CNN in your area. I am proud of you.
GREAT choice to get the bariatric docs to give you a reference. What an excellent move. I hope that expedites the process for you. Keep sluggin. You are bound to hit the haymaker sooner now than later. What a jerk PCP.
Further follow up--- my wife who works at the same facility has my PCP was talking to one of her coworkers who had WLS last year. She asked who her PCP was since they have the same insurance. Her PCP doesn't work there anymore !! I have tracked her down and will "interview" her next week.
This will get done EVENTUALLY.
