March 50 mile challenge - finish line
Howdy Gents. I'm headed out of town for a couple of days this weekend so I won't be around to post, but I wanted to give y'all a chance to tally up your numbers for March on the 50 mile challenge.
How you doin? Here are my numbers:
Last Month: 120 miles (90 eliptical, 30 stationary bike)
Miles through March 8: 25 (23 eliptical, 2 stationary bike)
Miles through March 15: 21 (15 eliptical, 6 stationary bike)
Miles through March 22: 17.5 (15.5 eliptical, 2 stationary bike)
Miles through March 31: 32.5 (21.5 eliptical, 11 stationary bike)
Miles total March: 96 (75 eliptical, 21 stationary bike)
March Goal: 100 miles (80 eliptical, 20 stationary bike)
Percent of month elapsed: 100%
Percent of personal goal completed: 96%
Percent of 50 mile challenge completed: 102%
Just missed my personal mark. Given the amount of weight lifting I've taken on I'm not too disappointed. I'll strive for the 100 mile mark again in April.
On a personal note I want to let y'all know I've officially dropped a duece. Updated pictures are on the ol' profile. Feeling great and ready to get that BMI into the 30's and get the weight into the 200's for the first time in about 20 years. Makes me feel old to type that, but it's true. As always, thanks to everybody on this message board for contributing. Whether its through this challenge or through humor or through other self discovery, this forum has become a must for me at least a few times a day (I mean I'm working, boss. Honestly, it's work!).
Would love to hear how everyone is progressing.
Stronger everyday.

Hey Dan,
Congrats on the Deuce! Lookin' good there, my friend.
Just an outstanding job, all around.
Okay... I know there's still a few days left in the month, but, I've only got 2 more scheduled workouts in that time frame - and they're pretty much set in stone. So, I can accurately compute my mileage for March right now.
Odometer Check:
Last Month Total Miles: 157
Miles Thu, March 1st - Thu, March 8th: 60
(29 Bike / 22 Run / 8 Elliptical / 1 Swim)
Miles Fri, March 9th - Thu, March 15th: 78
(56 Bike / 16 Run / 6 Elliptical)
Miles Fri, March 16th - Thu, March 22nd: 56
(35 Bike / 13 Run / 8 Elliptical)
Miles Fri, March 23rd - Sat , March 31st: 63
(37 Bike / 16 Run / 8 Elliptical / 2 Swim)
Total Miles (March): 257!!!!
(157 Bike / 67 Run / 30 Elliptical / 3 Swim)
Personal Monthly Goal: 200
Percent of Month Elapsed: 100%
Percent of 50 Mile Goal Achieved: 514%
Percent of Personal Goal Achieved: 128%
When I step back and really think about it... I don't think I logged a total of 257 exercise miles over the entire 10 years leading up to my WLS. Now I'm doing that in a month... Holy crap.
The great thing is, I get about 85% of my workouts done in the early morning hours before my wife & daughter are even out of bed. So, I get all this work in and don't spend too much extra time away from my girls... the two main reasons I've done all this in the first place.
So, Dan... Enjoy your weekend getaway, and I'm looking forward to another month of progress from all the fellas.
Be Well,
-A.J.

Greetings Locker Room Buddys!
This month was my first in quite a few years of exercising. It started out good, but fell apart fast with injuries. First my chiro cracker seperated a cartledge in a rib and then I broke my pinky toe late one night in the bedroom.
Today is my first day back, and I have a trainer coming to get me serious. He is Ken Duncan, ex-Packer player from the 70's. I'll going to use him 10 times each month for 2 months and have him whip my butt into a routine I can travel with this summer.
So here's to a better April!
Congrats on all the weight losses and fabulous numbers of miles exercised.

Greetings Dan -=-
It was an interesting experience to say the least. He starts me out on the treadmill for 10 minutes. then we move to the floor for 30 minutes of stretching then back to the bike and treadmill. My wife just asked waht hurt and the answer was what didn't hurt!!
Actually it was a very good time and I look forward to doing it 3 times a week when I'm in town.
I don't think the price is so bad as I'm just going to do it for 2 months and then cut back from 10 times to 3 times a month.
Thanks for asking and you have some good stats on the chalkboard for your work. Congrats!
KIM
