Home From Surgery...

Hello All...I'm back Home.  My Surgery (Lap-Band) went perfect.  It was at 3:30pm yesterday.  I was released from the Hospital at 12:00pm today.  The only problem's I had were 1) Coming out of Surgery when the Anesthesia was wearing off, I guess I was pretty rowdy, I'm told I took a few Big swings at the Post Op Nurses (they were guys)  I was complaining of Bad Pain, and was demanding some Ice!  Then I guess it was when they tried to put the Oxygen Mask on me, I started playing Rocky!  I then was given a Big Dose of Demerol and settleled down. I have no recalection of any of that.  2) When I came to in my room I had a Major Headache, I mean a {{{Throbber}}}  I was given some Tylenol w/ Codene.  And it was lights out for about 5 hrs.  I slept on and off through the night, they did get me up once to walk, and every hour they were taking my Vital Signs.  I had absolutely No Gas Pains what so ever, I feel like a Guy that owed his Bookie some money and he sent "Big Tony" to give me a Tune-up in my Stomach.  I just feel like someone punched me in the Stomach for about 5 minutes straight.
I woke up at 6:00am and went for a 10 min walk up and down the Hallway.  Around 7ish Breakfast came, I got the Sampler Platter I guess, Broth, Jello, Popsicle, and Juice.  I ate the Popsicle and had a couple teaspoons of the Broth.  Wasn't very hungry at all.  I had a 11:00am meeting with my Surgeon going over everything I have to do.  2 weeks Clear Liquid, 1 week regular liquid, then mushies.  I also had my 1st Burp with some liquid coming back up, I wouldn't say I threw up tho.  That just happened while writing this email.

I'm still feeling pretty grogie now, so I'm going to try to sleep for a little while.  I just wanted to let you all know how it went.  It's kinda weird, but it's like you all where there with me, can't explain it?!  Maybe it was the Drugs?! (lol)
Thank you all for your thoughts and Prayers.

Rocko~~

Ayeeeeeeeeeeeeeee  yo Adrian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eh youz will be ok eh Rock? (Philly accent) Here is a story. I hate waking up from surgery. The first thing I remember is screaming out in pain from what felt like someone stabbing me in the collar bone with a knife. Air they said, but I reached up to rip off my Cpap mask (my cpap mask, my wonderful comfortable cpap mask) and broke the noce bridge peice off while screming G** dammit WTF is THAT s**t  (no recollction either).  SO I have to suffer through a crappy mask for 3 nights. Hey Rocko - congrats on the successful surgery (and for not breaking any noses!!!!!!!).   Welcome home, and good luck with your recovery.  Sounds like things are going great so far (after your initial sparring in the recovery room ).   I'm 2 weeks post-op today, and each day gets better and better - hang in there and walk as much as you can - it makes a difference.    Chuck

Good to know everything went as planned. I guess the "Rocky" incedent wasn't planned, or was it? I've had too many surgeries to count. My "thang" is all I want to do is sleep afterwards. I don't want anyone bothering me. That includes family, nurses, doctors, whatever. I just want to be left alone to sleep it off. I guess that's better than swinging my way back. Just make sure to stick to those liquids. You wouldn't want that band to slip. Look forward to seeing your progress on Sunday mornings. The race is on! Ronnie

Rocko, I'm glad you're home and hope things aren't too rough too long. My first few days home were hazy, too. I spent most of my time in a huge recliner (had to buy a biggie to hold my you-know-what) or "walking around the yard. I was so tired and weak that I had to use a walking staff. I pretended I was Moses--a big, slow, groggy Moses. . . Seriously, we are all happy you're home and understand what you mean when you say that it's like we were there with you. We were, in spirit . . .

Good thing we were all there, it took 6 of us to hold you down when you stared swinging. Congratz. Rocky Stella
