thanks for the compliment DD. i think you're right on target. it's one thing to lose this weight over a couple years instead of months. it's yet another to get your old physique back. when we moved to our house i was already big and that's how everyone around here has seen me. most of our friends too. very few people knew me 20 years ago when i was buff. so they see me not only lose the weight in no time but see my former efforts when i lifted. that kind of muscle seems to bounce back if you get back in the gym and get serious. at first i went for lean with just swimming but when i started lifting it all seemed to just jump right back where i was 18 years ago. i guess that's kind of cool. it took me years to get there the first time and no time at all to get it back these past months. yep. i'm going to have fun with it! carbonblob

well bschucher, there's really no magic after the pouch does its thing. then the rest is up to you. if you started getting good eating habits and did your reading while in your honeymoon phase, then you ought to be ready for the real changes you'll need to maintain. my doc said the guys who lose 100% got religion. meaning they bought into the program. you know by now what the program is. look at the success stories here and to a man, they worked the program and met their goals. i have to admit, i surpassed many goals set by myself and the doc. some i did with the help of pain meds, so that was a cheat but by and large i worked the program, paid my dues and i'm trying my damndest to stay the course. i've had some issues along the way but when i slipped into those 30's i had to realize i've played the game and held a winning hand. at some point we all have to go back and diet, exercise and do all things we should have been doing before we gained weight and came down this path together. except this time it's much easier for me because i just don't starve anymore. that was the key for me. for others, well, maybe they lost their tastes for sweets or they swore off certain foods. i think all of us wanted a second chance and we'll be damned if we're going to blow it. it's been too painful, expensive and time consuming to do this twice. so that's my story and you didn't even ask for it. it just slipped out because i do feel inspired tonight and not trapped like so many years before. i can make choices and look what that's done for me. so you want to see a 30" waist. well, go get it. it's waiting for you. i know you can do it.......carbonblob
