I have a Question for anyone who has had plastic Surgery.  I had WLS 14 months ago.  I have had great results losing 168 lbs.  My surgeon has reccomended a plastic surgeon.  I set up an appointment, but when I was talking to them, they said that even though she is fairly sure my insurance will cover all of the procedure, they will only cover an "upper and lower adominal lift.  I am 35 and use to be a fairly good athlete in college.  I have been working out fairly seriously for the last several months and have begun to build significant muscle mass, but still have some areas of skin that I would like to have taken care of.  A little embarrising to type this, but what the hell, this is a mens room!  What about the triangle of fat above the Pecker?  Is this part of the lower abdomine?  Also, what about the chest area, and under the armpits?  Also not a lot, but a little under the arms?  Is all of this out of my pocket, or has someone found a way to get the insurance to cover this.  I am very happy with the way I look and feel now, when compared to before weight loss, but would love to take the transformation all the way.  Any advice or stories of your plasic surgery appreciated.

We're in the same boat my friend..... Insurance companies will pay for surgeries that are medical necessities....many view plastic surgery as cosmetic procedures even though they are being done for reconstructive purposes.   This means that if they cover the TT they may not cover other things such as the loose skin on arms or a full lower body lift or lipo suction (the area abover your pecker might need some lipo).  She did tell me that she was fairly certain that the insurance company woudl pay for the male breast reduction because I have a lot of skin in that area, but that some of the work that I wanted would be out of pocket.    Scott

Canupe, I had a panniculectomy this last summer. Total cover by insurance. The "Pube Pillow?" Gone!!!Exclamation Like getting a "Super-Shmekel-Extension!!" When I spoke with the doc about removing the little extra skin at my waist, he brought up- "Most men want this too, but don’t even ask…I’ll cut here, and pull this up like…..blah,blah" It was just part of the panniculectomy!  No ‘added cost.’ Of course there is speculation that my wife tipped him like a world class waiter while I was out in recovery!Big Smile If your doc doesn’t ‘bring it up?’ You Must! It’s worth the whole of the PS experience. Instant! Addition to the "pubic-property value!" And at no extra cost? What’s the name of that movie? Oh yeah- "Free Willy!"Arharh! Ya Asked….. Your Mileage May Vary… (Larry’s did. From what we’re told, he steps on his often now!)Laugh2 Best Wishes- Dx

Hey Dude.... That triangle...it's called the monds.....when they did my lower body lift, it took care of most of it....they are going to have to go ..."do a touch up".... they are covering my thighs... moobs and side moobs....flopping like old glory....unless you have rashes and boils...it;s out of pocket advice, this is not a walk in the park.....I was pain free, but had nasty ass drains for a month..and then 3 aspirations....and I never wanted to see the inside of a hospital again.... but now, at about 10 weeks out...ok I want my thighs done....and I wanna free willy a little more.... on the arms and chest...hit the gym, and hope that the muscle fairy helps you out.... Ok I guess thats it... oh and I think it's great that your screen name is for a small finger sandwich...that is priceless... russ
