Ultimate FART - Half the man I use to be......
Hi Bros, I set a personal goal for myself when I started this journey to become half the man I use to be. I originally weighed 460lbs with a BMI of 58.5 back in Nov. 2005. After a surprising six pound loss this week I am now only 1 pound away from 230lbs. I now have a BMI of 28.7. I feel so incredible compared to when I began this journey; it’s as if the clock has turned back 20 years for me. The road has had its ups and downs but I have really enjoyed the ride. I was the ultimate couch potato before WLS and now I exercise 6 days a week. My black lab and I celebrated today by walking 10 miles in 2.5 hours. Before WLS I could barely walk to my truck at the end of the day. I have gone from size 3-4XL shirts and 58 inch waist pants to XL-L shirts and 36 inch waist pants. My blood pressure has dropped from 120/150 to 118/60 plus I went from serve sleep apnea to I don’t even snore anymore. I am now living my life instead of just trying to survive another day. I would like to thank the guys of the Men’s locker room for their help over the past year; I could not have done this without all of ya’ll. I decided to reward myself by replacing my F-150 SuperCab with a new car this week. I have been driving trucks for 20 years because I just fit in them better that any car. At my high weight of 460lbs I could barely fit in a car and the seat belt would not even close around me most of the time. I have loved the new Mustang GT Convertibles since they first came out but I knew I was way too big to ever fit into one. I went by my local Ford dealer this week and they had the exact car I had been lusting after just sitting on the lot. When I sat down in the leather bucket seat it fit me like a glove. Once I took this baby out for a test drive with the top down and I hit 70 mph before I made it out of 3rd gear I knew that I had to have it. Check out the pictures on the bottom of my profile page to see me with my new love…… Make all those walks, sit-ups, curls, and stomach crunches seem worth it now. Good Luck Guys and remember to enjoy the ride……. Tim
