Just wanted to say hello and thanks!
Just wanted to thank all the guys here who have posted. I am at the very begining of the process so I am still 7 -8 months away from surgery at the minimum. I have read soo many of your post, and many of your profiles. DX yours was better than some novels I have read, I am glad you have come through it all so well and continue to visit these forums.
I dont really have much else to add. I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks. I have gone to my WLS Seminar, and I have the Surgeon I will use. I still have not decided on Lapband or RNY, but I do know that I am 100 percent going to do one or the other. It is time to change my life, and do what it takes to see my wife and children grow old.
You just dont know how important it has been for me to read all your stories. Thanks just doesnt seem like enough.

Welcome to the locker room Troy. I lurked on the main board for a week or two before I found the mens forum and thought I am not going to open my self up to that mess. You won't find all the drama or BS here that you do on the main board. Well maybe a little BS. After I found the mens board I lurked in the shadows for several weeks. Besides learning alot about what was to come, I learned there is a great bunch of men here. But you have probably are ready figured that out for your self.

Hi Troy,
Welcome to the Locker Room. You've come to the right place for support, insight, laughs, and friendship. Whichever WLS you chose, your life will be better.
Does your log-on name indicate a fondness for the other movie Troy?
And thank you, too, for signing on. We can always use another friend.
Doug

Thanks for the welcome!
DX it surely is a small world. =)
Ronnie thanks for the offer and believe me I will probably take you up on it. Figureing out which is best for me is something I go back and forth on. I will probably post on it in the future, just to get the insite some of you here have. I know the decision is mine, but it is interesting to listen to peoples thoughts on it.
Doug, I have used MovieTroy for many years, and yes you are correct I am fond of the movies. At one time there were not many mainstream movies I didnt go see the week they came out. However, now I have my hands full with the kids, and at most I get to see a movie at the theater about six times a year. It is all rentals in the mail for me now.
Thanks Troy - things are going extremely well for me. I am definitely one of the lucky/blessed ones for sure. It's finally turning Spring here in Salt Lake City, so I took my truck out for a drive today, and went over and visited my father for a couple hours. This was my first excursion out of the house, but it felt great, and I was amazed at how easily I got around. I will be going back to work part-time this week (although considering how many hours a week I usually work, I'm not sure how many hours "part time" will be LOL). I'm mainly going back to work because i'm BORED TO DEATH and feel great.
I took 3 years in making my decision to have surgery, and did a lot of research before deciding on RNY. I think most people take a lot of time in making this "life-changing" decision. Feel free to message me if you have any questions in particular - I'd be more than happy to share my experiences thus far (although I'm definitely a newbie on the post-op side, but I can tell you about my experience in making my decision to have the surgery).
Enjoy the rest of yor Sunday, and have a great week.
Chuck
