March 50 Mile Challenge - Checkpoint #3
Howdy Gents. It's time to check your stats thus far for March. We're rounding third and heading for home. Coming back from a huge halftime deficit ala Ohio State against Tennessee. Mixing in metaphors left and right. Damn the torpedos and full steam ahead!
How you doin? Here are my numbers:
Last Month: 120 miles (90 eliptical, 30 stationary bike)
Miles through March 8: 25 (23 eliptical, 2 stationary bike)
Miles through March 15: 21 (15 eliptical, 6 stationary bike)
Miles through March 22: 17.5 (15.5 eliptical, 2 stationary bike)
Miles total through March 22: 63.5 (53.5 eliptical, 10 stationary bike)
March Goal: 100 miles (80 eliptical, 20 stationary bike)
Percent of month elapsed: 71%
Percent of personal goal completed: 63.5%
Percent of 50 mile challenge completed: 127%
Going to crank it up a notch to finish strong for March. I'm close to dropping the duece and don't feel anything can hold me down right now.
Would love to hear how everyone is progressing.
Stronger everyday.
-Dan
Hey Dan,
A pleasant Friday mornin' to ya.
Well, this week's whacked-out weather (75 degrees one day, followed by 3 inches of sleet & snow the next, and now back to the 70's with rain) took a chunk out of my outdoor bike miles. But, I did manage to put another 56 total miles in the bank.
Odometer Check:
Last Month Total Miles: 157
Miles Thu, March 1st - Thu, March 8th: 60
(29 Bike / 22 Run / 8 Elliptical / 1 Swim)
Miles Fri, March 9th - Thu, March 15th: 78
(56 Bike / 16 Run / 6 Elliptical)
Miles Fri, March 16th - Thu, March 22nd: 56
(35 Bike / 13 Run / 8 Elliptical)
Total Miles (March): 194
Personal Monthly Goal: 200
Percent of Month Elapsed: 71%
Percent of 50 Mile Goal Achieved: 388%
Percent of Personal Goal Achieved: 97%
Just 6 more miles to reach this month's goal.
Hmmm... If I can crank out another 56 miles over the next 9 days, maybe I can hit the 250 mark.
I have decided to try and take it a little slower this week.
I've recently added a weekly Yoga class to improve my flexibility... and it's more intense than I thought. Not "break a sweat, huff & puff" intense, but, "stretch so much that you feel it for 2 days" intense.
Yesterday, my hamstrings were just cooked. Had to cut my 6.2 mile run down to 4.5 miles.
(Poor me! )
See Ya At The Finish Line.
Be Well,
-A.J.

Dan, I haven’t been posting to the "50-Challenges," Just got out of the habit of counting my miles Back when I slacked off of my running. I have been doing my walking and over the last few months have even gotten back to running about 5 to 6 miles a week. Well, I’m doing "A Challenge" elsewhere (different-board) And I’ve been tracking. Just this week alone…? 20 miles walking 5 running!!! And I still have a weekend full of beautiful weather ahead!! No change in weight yet But I feel Great!!! Thanks for keeping us "Up and Going!" Best Wishes- Dx
