Rehab Starts Today...
So, I went for my physical rehab / lymphedema consults yesterday.
2 hours a day, 5 times a week for the next 6 weeks, I'll be on the receiving end of an aggressive full body massage to stimulate my lymphatic system.
Yeah, i had a hard time not to smile telling the therapist that yeah, it'll be difficult but i'll manage. ROFL....
Had a nice meeting with the physical therapist, too. Going to start an aggressive cardio/weight training program tonight.
Y'all oughta see this therapy center. It's 3 stories tall. The bottom has an olympic sized swimming pool, a heated therapy pool and a pool with exercise bikes installed into it.
2nd floor is the physical rehab center. Part of that floor is a REALLY nice cardio section with plasma tv's to watch while you burn calories.
Third floor ( my favorite) has a gymnasium sized basket ball ct. with 6 hoops surrounded by enough weight training equipment to fill 3 regular exercise centers. Nautillus, Cybex, Hammer Strength, Weider Iron, you name it, they have it...
Head to toe massages by a cute little spanish lady and a weight/ cardio programsuperivised by a dude with a degree in sports rehab. All paid for by my insurance.
All I can figure is I died on the table in surgery and i'm now in heaven.....
Good for you!
A question, did you ask your doctor to order this, or was it just part of the program?
Of course, i have a $20 co-pay, so i bet with my insurance, it would be $20 per session, which would add up quickly!
