The Final Countdown...Finally!
Well Guys only "7 Days" and the Band will be on! So far so good. I'm also a Type II Diabetic, and the past week my levels have been on Point, from 80-108 and I cut my Lantus (Insulin) down 80%!!! Do I smell a Needle Free Future?!
I went to my PCP to get my Final Clearance this morning, all the Paperwork stuff. They took my Weight, I'm down almost 14lbs!!! I didn't believe it, so I weighed myself on two other scales there, but that's what it said. I really can't see a difference tho. I just have never felt this good about anything I've ever done, I mean done just for me. And I'm actually following through with it. But I have to say this Forum is what's getting me through. I have gained a lot of knowledge from you all, so thank you so much!
Your Friend,
Rocko~~
Man yu are doing great. I did the pre-op diet for 13 days before surgery and lost 14 lbs and you still have a few days left. You are off to a great start. Rock on Rocko!!!
Iam really happy for you on the insulin free thing. That is certainly good progress there too. I'm betting on not only a needle free future but a insulin free future.
Keep swinging away in there. You are headed for one great success story.
Whats the wife going to do when you get all stealth and girls start leaving you their phone numbers????
Hey Rocko - congrats on the weight loss and for sticking with the doctor's orders!!!! I'm 6 days post-op RNY today, and I've followed everything very strickly and I'm doing great. Keep your eyes on the prize, and keep focused on the reasons you're doing this......... Best of Luck for a safe surgery, and speedy recovery.

hey Rocko, i was on 10 shots of insulin a day. I alternated between my pump and the lantus/humalog routine. i was on a ton of other meds too. now i just take synthroid. that's it except for non narcotic pain meds. so there's a future without meters and injections if you're a type 2. by the way, nothing feels as good as thin. it's very true. i have to say a lot of my motivation comes from not wanting to ruin all the hard work it has taken to get to this point. You really start to think twice before eating something bad when you exercise and diet so hard to maintain. just a heads up when you lose your weight.....lol. I know you'll do good. look at what you've done so far. I could never stick your pre-op diet. way to hard for me. so you're obviously motivated. good luck, it'll be a breeze and then come join us on the loser's bench.......Carbonblob
