I just had my surgery on Wed.   Was at a first rate hospital with a very experienced surgeon.  I had a Lap RNY. Hospital  $9,000   (covers 3 days) Surgeon   $6,200 Assistant Surgeon   $1,250 Anesthisia  $1,025 Education  $500 ________________ Total   $17,975 My surgeon has 20 years experience - over 4,000 RNY's to date - and does approx 10 Lap RNY's per week.    I was 547 pounds pre-op and did a lot of research on my doctor because of my extreme weight.   Hope this info helps. Steve - I had to write two checks for my Lap RNY at Barix Clinics: Hospital: $21,500 Surgical practice:  $4,000 Total:  $25,500 I did have to take out a home equity loan to do it. $300 a month (or so) for ten years is nothing compared to all the gains that I've made. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. John

You can get the DS with Dr. Peters (from what i hear) for 19K with everything included, he's the cheapest in the country for this procedure self pay.  If you want to travel out of country, you can go do dr. Machasini in Brazil and have the DS for about 15k (that includes travel expenses).   Fortunately I only had to pay 275 dollars for mine, the insurance paid for the rest.  Scott

Hi Steve, looks like you are considering having yours done at Centennial.  I had mine done with Dr. Houston in November.  No complications at all.  With regards to the costs.  The Hospital fee and Dr. Fee are exact, the anesthesia is about $400 too high.  That is the estimate, the actual costs came in at about 2700.   If you would like to chat, email me through the link below with any questions. Take care, Greg

AT USC in So Cal, one of the better Bariatric hospital anywhere they will do it 18K, all inclusive, according to the two Drs I met with. It is also a teaching hospital, that may be why it a lil cheaper.

Just to give a comparison to Marcel's socialized LapBand.  I self-paid mine last year and it was a flat $15,000 that covers all pre and post care for the first year.  After my surgiversary (Wednesday) I'll have to pop out an addtional $92.00 per adjustment (fill).    Like most guys here...I'd do it all again.
