First annual "MEN'S FORUM" picnic

Hey gang: I was posting a reply this am to a fellow member regarding cigar smoking. It occured to me that it would be a blast to have an annual "picnic" to meet evreyone face to face. Having only been around here for 3 Months or so... I do not know if it has been discussed in the past. My initial idea would be to have it in a location where there is cheap ass air fare. Have it in a location where we could spend lots of time outdoors ( not Vegas); perhaps combine it with an OH event.. or other WLS event... Our's could be an event within an event.. As early as this summer or fall would be great... I know that there will never be a "perfect" place or time... perhaps... DX, Blob and the other former. O.G.'S ( original "gain'"sters ); could guide this.. pick the event and date... and get it off the ground... Just thinking about the possibilities gets me fired-up Kev-

Hey Kev,  Great Idea! It would be awesome for a bunch of guys from this forum to meet at some point and an OH event would be a great place to do that. Too bad I'm not going to the event in CA. I'm not sure how often OH hosts the events, but I would like to attend one of them in the future. Right now I'm concentrating all my energy on finding a job. Hopefully you get to see your idea through someday soon.  Ronnie

Man, that idea poses a real dilemma. I mean, if it was almost any other group, it'd probably revolve around a monster catered affair, or at the very least, a great outdoor event, like a big BBQ, or Pig Roast. Instead, we'll have a bunch of seemingly "normal" guys, pretty much eating like rabbits, and drinking like elderly school marms. Nobody would know what the hell was going on, by looking at us. How about having it at an NFL game? Just pick a great game, set up a huge tailgate, and have a great time. I love my NY Giants, but I'd be down to see a good game anywhere. Plus, even if you don't enjoy sports all that much, it's just a cool experience. Hell, I know you can get on the grounds of Giants Stadium at 8am on a gameday. Plus, if you pick a major city, there's plenty to do after a game, especially in NY, Miami, Denver, LA, KC, etc.......as long as no one picks Greenbay in January.

I would be up for something like that if it didn't involve flying too far away or if it was near a destination resort of some type.  I would bring my wife and make a mini vacation out of it. Las Vegas or someplace like that would be awesome........... D.

hey Kevin, i'm in los angeles so anything out this way works for me! just kidding. actually, we used to take house boat vacations on the delta out by you. we would start in stockton. really had a great time out there. anyway, i'm pretty near LAX airport and the marina. the OH meeting is in orange county not too far from here. so if it ever comes to LA, maybe I could put something together for us. i think it would be a blast. any other ideas out there for a place to hang? let's hear it.....carbonblob

Kevin, Great idea.   I'm in. Just give me a date, and a place. Are we bringing the wives or are we going to have fun? Chicago is a central location. We could see a Cubs game at Wrigley field, or watch a Second City Comedy show.  Just some thoughts. I'm up for anything you decide. DD

I think DD's got the right idea - Someplace in the center of the country. I'd love to see Chicago... Wrigley Field? Hell Yes.
