Chicken Boullion

Rocko, I bet you could chew the label off of the ketchup bottle right now.   I sympathize with you, but I never had to do a liquid pre-op diet.  I can imagine how tough it must be.  Try beef broth, canned French onion soup, or beef consommé, or the various chicken and beef instant bullions that are available in the grocery store.  If you need a change of pace, try Knorr’s Tomato bullion cubes.  It is pretty good.  Try boiling broth with a few carrots, onion, and celery for flavor. Follow your doctor’s orders and stick to the Optifast diet.  Your surgery will be easier for him and safer for you.  You only have ten days to go and you can do it.  Hang in there Rocko.  This part of your journey is well worth the sacrifice.

Rocko, I know you will have trouble believing htis, but my Wife actually had to fight me to dis-continue the liquid diet once I got used to it. I really likes how fast the weight was dropping off, and lost sight of the fact that it was not healthy long term. Hang in there, you are getting great advice. Jazz up that broth any old way you like. I prefered the Chicken and Beef bouillion in powder form as it mixed 'cleaner' Add garlic, onion, cajun, whatever spices you like... I always added Hot Sauce to the chicken... it wasn't buffalo wings, but the flavor was awesome! I am only 7 weeks post op on Lap-Band, and one week post fill and currently have lost over 60# since I started the 2 week pre-op all liquid phase. Hang in there, it does get better, and you are gonna love the results!
