Cigna has denied my rny. I am very upset. I have done the 6 month diet I have all my doc visits I provided all they asked. I have been in constant contact with them to make SURE all my ducks were in a row. I have planned my work schedule around this. I have planned my music gigs around this and am now screwed. Anyone ever appeal? How long does it take? Grrrrrrrrrrrr

It seems  more common to get denied and have to appeal. On the up side it also appears most get approved once they go through the appeals process. There are even lawyers who specialize in these types of appeals. Might be worth looking into it just to streamline process and show the Ins company you're serious. I fell your frustration and it seems it almost a normal part of the process nowadays. Good Luck

Absolutely APPEAL!!! Did they give you a reason that they Denied you?! Man these F'ing Insurance Companies, what *******s. Do Not Give Up!!! Appeal Immediately. I would even get a Lawyer if it's a Concideration? I have Humana Choice PPO they gave me a little bit of a hard time at first but I did get approved within a Week! I was Floored, I thought for sure I was Denied! But as agrivated as you are, take a timeout collect yourself, and Proceed with Diligence! Go Do It, Do Not Wait!!! Good Luck!!! -Rocko-

Erog, Go for the appeal… Many, Many, Many folks out on this Board Were originally turned down then got their coverage after first appeal. It’s very typical. Many, even not until their 2nd appeal, but most on their 1st. Hang in there! Checkout- http://obesityhelp.com/forums/insurance/cmsID,8020/mode,cont ent/a,cms

It took me about 15 months to get approved. I never got denied it just took that long, it helped that a lady in the insurance at the hospital where I was having the RNY had a RNY and kept bugging Blue Cross on my behalf-Keep trying! It is worth the effort. Woody
