My surgery was in January.  I have been weighing myself every day, and I ahve noticed that the few times I have gotten especially dehydrated I have gained a pound.  Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, David ps:  55 lbs lost in 7 weeks

David Being well hydrated will help boost your weight loss. I was dehydrated my first week post-op and had shortness of breath and an irregular heart beat and really didn't lose much that 1st week. Being dehydrated can cause many issues and I am sure that it will affect your weight loss.  If you are having trouble drinking plain water get some Crystal Light /CoolAid packets to add to your bottle of water.  Try the Wal-Mart version they are cheaper and I like them better.  I think that the orange is the best. Keep up the good work and drink those pounds away. Chris

Good question. I've wondered that myself. I know caffenated beverages don't count towards the 64oz. Even though I drink coffee throughout the day, I still get dehydrated If I don't drink my 4 big glasses of water.

David, Yes, it can, and a whole lot worse. Drink, Drink, Drink, Drink....and then drink some more. JP

David, dehydration does not lead to FAT gain, it's just your body trying to hold on to wha****er is there by not peeing it out.  Once you convince your body that there is plenty of water available (by rehydrating yourself), it will let it go and you'll notice a nice drop in pounds. Ken

David, Yes.  Make sure you are getting in at least 64 oz. a day.  Things like decaf tea and crystal light can help.
