No more chicken...ever!
knew i could count on you to find the bright side! i had my surgery on 12/12/05 and of course had to attend christmas parties. i was at a packed house with just two bathrooms and i tried some hot chocolate, first time i found out i couldn't do sugar. well, the rest of the place had to use the other bathroom for an hour while i hugged the toilet. wow, what a day. everybody thought i was shooting up or something. wish i had my camera for that one. i actually had to barf at a clients house when i ate some chicken for lunch and it got stuck as usual. for some reason when i barf now, it's loud and horrible sounding. client loved it.
Chicken and barfing are on the same list for me too. I am actually having better success with beef than chicken. Doesn't make any sense. I even had a pork pulled meat barBQue quesedilla at Arby's last week. I could only eat half of it but it went down OK and stayed down OK.
Must be something in our genes,...or is that jeans?
I had that stomach and intestinal virus last week my family has had 3 times so far. Food in general and me aren't good friends right now as a whole. But chicken is on my black list too CB.
yep, as i just mentioned Joe, beef is ok with me. must be the fiber content or something. i do fine with that and i like beef better anyways. i'm happy about that. but chicken? no way, gone forever and i mean it. i used to really love eating the skin off the drumsticks, the fatter the better. that's what got me here in the first place though! later.......
thanks for the replies guys. i thought i was the only one out there with this problem. looks like chicken just might be too dry for some of us to eat. like i said, if it's in a soup, i can do it. however, that's it, i'm not kidding. no more chicken. even the g/f said last night, you didn't eat that much to still be throwing up! she's right, i just couldn't stop. i felt like the shark being cut open in the movie jaws, old license plates were coming out, shoes, all kinds of weird stuff!
I feel for you man....i can't do scrambled eggs anymore. I have no idea why either. I can eat beef, rice, white meat chicken..anything. But all of a sudden scrambled eggs make me hurl. It's a shame too, because I was eating 3-4 egg omletes everyday...eggs are a good source of protein. Whats weird is that I can eat eggs in other configurations....oh well, I guess this is just one of those things you get use to post op. Perhaps you should just give the chicken a rest for a while, and maybe try it again in a few months, it might work better for you then.
