that's it guys. i'm 15 months out and I can't eat chicken. I've been hurling chicken shcrapnel for the past 3 hours. I don't care how it's prepared. you could put it in a freaking blender and cru**** with an elephants foot, run it over with a truck and I still won't be able to take it. so told the g/f that's it. never again will I eat chicken and I don't care. I'm sick of barfing. I've blown my chow more in the past 15 months than I have in my entire life. Now mind you, I was doing good past 7 months but then anytime I try to eat chicken, blam. It's just too dry for me. So you new guys, you might find there's just one food or two that's not going to ever cut it for you. For me it's chicken and pizza. I can barely do bread, rice and anything that fluffs in your guts. I was on soups and soft food for 7 months but that's not the norm. I was just slower coming around to more solid food. I still have to eat slow, chew the crap out of my food but at least it stays down now. ok, just had to rant. I hate barfing.....Carbonblob

CB, I had the same experience with chicken at home.  However, I recently had some here in Asia that was really moist..  It was steamed (I think).  Anyway, I ate it and had no problem.   I know how you feel about the barfing.  I can understand why you would't want to even see it again.

that's the ticket Jim, it has to be moist for me to eat it and even then, something about the chicken though. just going to cut it out, can't take it anymore.....lol!

Hey CB,  Chicken is my go to food. I love the stuff, and it seems to love me. Pasta, rice, and bread are the ones I avoid. Too much of either and I have a stomach ache from hell. I don't barf or anything, its just that these items expand in my pouch and cause major discomfort.  A little tip for those that maybe trying chicken for the first time. Try baking the chicken in soup. Yea, you read that right. I use the Great Value chicken breasts at Wal-Mart, costs 5.50 for six huge breasts. I eat half of one.  First, croank on the oven to 350. The recipe depends on how many are eating, so you may need to modify. I use one can of cream of chicken soup (family size), 3 breasts (frozen). Take your 13 x 9 baking dish and set aside, next drop your soup into a bowl, along with one can of water, whis****il smooth. Next pour the soup into the baking pan, then just drop in the frozen breasts. Cook this for one hour. It's cheap, delish, very moist, and easy.

I already know I'm gonna catch hell for putting a chicken recipe as a reply to CB's post about never wanting chicken again. Sorry CB. I never suggested that you try it. Just wanted to put it out there for the guys.  Ronnie

ok Ronnie, you busted me! there is only one dish that allows me to eat chicken. it's the chicken tortillo soup at el poco loco. you're right, if it's in a soup all day and practically soaked to death, i can eat it but still have to chew just little pieces and chew a lot to get it down. glad you've got a recipe, sounds good!

Dry chicken kills me too. Gets stuck goin down and 30 secs later, it's like a bad horror movie. "The Return Of The Yard Buzzard!" 'Bout the only way I can eat chicken is in soup. If cooked the right way, I can get away with really thin sliced fajita style chicken. Lotta people just over cook the living S... (well, you know) out of it, tho. My big problem is sodium. I had ( and to a lesser extent still today) Lymphedema in my legs below the knees pre-op. If I exceed aboot 2grams of salt a day... Wowsers. Puffed up city. And that's a real shame for me 'cuz I love eating chicken noodle soup, wonton soup, etc...

same with me D, i love chicken soup. the little bits don't get me but the salt does. since i cut out salt i really react to it when it's laden in my foods. i never knew how much until i started eating healthy again. they just load that stuff on food don't they? so i have to get the low salt stuff and even then, it's packed with salt. oh well.......

yep, dark turkey is ok but again, i have to pulverize it and be careful but it seems to go down easier than chicken. both of these foods i eat sparingly because they just seem to dry out and block me up. dang, i love those foods too. of all things, my doc told me to try filet mignon. you know, i can eat that type of meat so i guess it has something to do with density. thanks..........
