Scott, dude, you need to come out of the hole more often man,...I am missing the adventurous events and activities.  How goes things; family, weight loss, sneaker selection? I'm gearing up for my first 10K Mar 31 and could use your expertise. Iremeber you saying the Powerade messed you up in the 26K,..or was I drunk that week and yuo never said that?? My brother wants me to get some of this stuff he uses called Powerslick to put on my feet to prevent blisters.  I've training at 4-6 miles and haven't used anything but shoes and socks.  Am I too nieve to realize I need something like this or is this overkill? Scott,....buddy,......seem seem, alla beem, open says me, open sesame seed,.....you there???

First 10K.  Good stuff.  If your feet have been good thus far, i'd stick with what has worked.  I have only gotten one blister and that was because I stepped in a puddle one mile into a 20 miler.  After that I got a great pair of moisture wicking socks and never had an issue again.  If you do get blisters, go ahead and try it.   Now if you want to talk overkill, here is my list of things I need for a long run: Running shorts wicking socks wicking shirt spandex undies water bottle holder fanny pack GPS watch shoes (with $100 inserts) wicking ball cap Ipod digital camera 2 oatmeal bars 6 gels $20.00 (incase I need a taxi) cell phone (to call the taxi) debit card to buy water/food on course small wad of toilet paper This is no joke.  I wi**** was.  I carry about $1000 worth of crap during a long run.  Races are nice because I don't need the water bottle or the cash    All you really need is a good pair of shoes, good socks and a wicking shirt. Good list,...I'll habg on to that.  I thought I was just insecure cause I already keep the cell phone, in case I need a tow or blow a seal..I'll keep you posted on the results.  The weather here just got warm last weekend and its suppose to rain all this coming weekend,..and I'm running out of time and not at the time for distance I want to be.  My body at 268 is saying lets jog and my brain and back are still saying R U CRAZY???  So I am trying to compromise and listen to my shins and ankles.  My goal fo rthis 10K, you'better sit down so you don't fall down laughing,.....is 90 minutes or better but I'd be happy with 90 minutes since I still haven't done it that fast,...yet.  My Brother says the enthusiam of the race will imrpove our time and he isn't too concerned,..but he just wants to finish.  He walked it 2 years ago at 1:38:00 but we both be older and he is bigger. We'll see. Thanks for the recommendations,...spandex undies???? sounds like that could crank me up a couple of notches.  I would find that ,....at a sporting goods store or Victorias Secret?
