All Gone

Well I am 2 weeks out today from my panniculectomy and bilateral mastopexy.  Yesterday the last of my drains were taken out and it feels great.  I still have to wear 2 binders (1 for my chest, 1 for my stomach), but I can't believe how well I am doing.  I will admit the pain the first few days was not fun, but at 2 weeks out I am driving and going things that I never expected to do this fast.  I do still get very tired and know I wouldn't last a whole day at work......the doctor doesn't want me to go back for 2 more weeks, he says I need to get myself used to doing everything again.......I can go along with that  . I am still swollen and there is still some fluid inside of me, but so far including the skin they removed I am down about 20 pounds from the day of surgery.  Shirts and sweatshirts that were tight the day of surgery are now too big with the smaller stomach. Life is so good! Hope my account of all this is helping people as they decide if they want to go ahead with this part of the surgery. Would love to hear from you guys. As always thanks for the support! Thanks, Alan

Alan, Thanks for the update.  Glad to hear you're doing better.  I'm trying to decide whether I want PS or not.  I'm nearing the one year point and have been below my goal for several months.  I've only lost 140 pounds so not sure how beneficial the added surgery would be.  Your posts sure help tho.  Thanks!

Floyd

Floyd, ONLY 140!  WOW that is great, don't diminish the hard work you have done.  That is great! I was down about 150 when I had this surgery and trust me from I what see so far it has been very beneficial. Continued success to you, Alan

Alan, Great to hear you’re doing so well! My PS was a breeze too. That swelling can last for quite awhile. Mine got to where it was fine, then I’d swell in the afternoons. Sort of like when a fever will climb in the evening? Same thing. Took Much Longer than I expected to stop completely. Life did get Great very quickly once the drains were removed. There’s a bunch of guys out here looking into and considering PS as an option. Thanks for sharing your experience!  The horror Stories are easy to find. Not everyone takes the time to share- "All is going along well!" Best Wishes- Dx

Hey DX, I feel like the swelling will never go away.  My love handles still seem to be there, but the doctor assures me that it is swelling.  It so good to here from you that the sweeling takes a really long time. Its 72 degrees here today so I am so glad to be able to get out and walk.   It snowed the day of surgery and it is suppse to be 30 on Thursday so I am off to enjoy the fresh air while I can. Thanks again so much, Alan

Thanks for posting this! I'm going in next wednesday for my consultation for a TT and am curious about your bilateral mastopexy......What's your pain like? I'm also supposed to be in a wedding late may, but hope to have surgery in the first week of may.....Do you feel like you could handle something like that at this point in time?  Thanks for your help and CONGRATS!
