Hey Steve in Tennessee, I'm just a bit South of Memphis. Welcome to the Men's Forum. Well, we’ve got a handful of "Bad-Backers" here And a host of professional "Insurance Company Fighters." Even a several ‘Self-Pay" Guys. If your knees are anything like mine were, They'd get to gether and come up with the money on their own! It's been the greatest thing ever for my knees and joints. Throw out any questions or thoughts. It’s a little like an all request radio station- Only a good as the requests made of it. May you find all of the experience, info And Support that this Bunch has to offer. Best Wishes- Dx
Hi Steve, welcome to the locker room. I too had to self-pay. 4 months out and I am down nearly 90 lbs. You will probably be down over 100 lbs in that time. And in 9 months you could be down 200lbs. What is that worth to you?
In 5 weeks I went from being diabetic to non-diabetic. In 8 weeks I was off 4 of 5 prescribed meds. Best decision I ever made.
When I was figuring out the costs, I figured in my case it was a 3 year payback just on the financial side alone, not factoring in the life benefits. But reduction in meds, food costs, eating out, lower insurance costs, etc. 3 year payback for RNY. Probably 2 year for Lap. People will take 5-6 years to pay for a car, 30 years to pay for a hosue. A 3 year payback for a changed life....priceless.
Congrats on your decision and welcome to the locker room.
Steve:
Welcome Bro. Self-pay could be called " self-invested" because it is an investment which will pay huge dividends. With what you save in food, health Care, Scripts, lost work you will become more profitable, happier and have a much better overall life !!!!!!!!
The bad news, you better learn how to buy replacement clothing on the cheap !! You will burn through smaller and smaller clothing like crazy.
Welcome to a new freedom and a new happiness...
