Hi Doug,    Did you see what you did with your numbers?  You did what I often do in my head.  You just don't see the numbers as they actually are.  It appears you added 100 pounds to your numbers.  Unless of course you recently stuffed a bag of cement down your pants.    I just got back from Las Vegas and hope you are able to make the meeting Tuesday night.                        Take care,  Rick

At this pace, I will have completely vanished by the end of this year! Seriously, though, it has been a fantastic ride and I have exceeded my expectations to date. Three months ago, if you told me I was going to loss 70 pounds in the first three months after surgery, I would have laughed. Thanks for your ongoing support of the "locker room", Dx. Your knowledge has been very helpful for me. JP

What a week! I had my first fill of my Lap-Band on Thursday. I am not going to write out a long play by play, but it did not go as smoothly as planned. They had to probe around a bit before they found the ‘sweet spot’ on the port. I was jabbed a total of 7 times, one of them with a ‘big bore’ needle to drain fluid from around the port that had still not been absorbed by my body. It was only after draining this fluid (and 4 unsuccessful attempts) that they finally gained access to the port on the 2nd subsequent attempt. I now have 4cc’s in my port, and can tell a huge difference… even swallowing water I can detect a restriction. I only went back to solid foods just yesterday, and it is a real challenge to get even minimal amounts of sustenance down. It took 35-40 minutes to eat 1 cup of chili last night, and I couldn’t fini**** Woo Hoo!! It works! With that all being said, here are my results to date… 05Oct06          389.0   -           Initial Consult with Illinois Bariatric Clinic 14Jan07           385.8   -           3.2# loss since Initial Consult 17Jan07           383.4   -           Pre-Op Consult - 2.4# loss (Start Liquid Diet) 21Jan07           371.2   -           12.2# loss since Pre-Op Consult 28Jan07           362.8   -           8.4# Loss since last Sunday 30Jan07           359.6   -           Lap Banding today 3.2#! Well, I have not participated in the weigh-in since I reached my goal, but, since I'm still losing, I figured I'd pop in and update.

Personal Goal 199lbs
Height - 6'1"
Weight on Jan 1, 2006 ................................ 417
Weight on Jan 31, 2006 (Surgery Day).......... 395
Weight on Jan 31, 2007 .............................. 199
Weight Last Week ...................................... 195
Weight This Morning .................................. 192

Loss for the week -3lbs
Total Loss -225lbs

Had my body fat % checked this week and, it's down to 11.5%
So, I've got about 22lbs of fat left on me - Not too shabby.
My goal in that department is to get to 10% and hold it right in that general area.

On another note, I've been wondering about Cards Fan, myself.
Hope he's doin' Okay!

Be Well,
A.J.

Well after spending a few days back in the hospital again, for that calf pain I posted about last week . It turned out to be a massive blood clot in my left leg from my groin to my knee. They sent me home having to give myself injections of lovenox for two weeks twice daily. And talk about expensive, that stuff cost $3.462.00 for 28 pre-loaded shots. But after all that I still managed to lose 3 more pounds.

Surgery date 11/14/06------544 Last week----------------------433 This week----------------------430 Total for week-----------------3 Grand total---------------------114
