Okay guys after reading several of the post's on the Mens Board I have come to realize that I originally posted this on the wrong Board and that is why I havent gotten any responses.  I am waiting to see the surgeon and would like to ask you men that have had the Lap Band as well as any other form of WLS about the fat pad that we all have developed over top of our pelvic region. How long does it take for this to start to go away and is there any special exercises that can be done to speed up the process.? Any and all repsonse's are welcomed.                                                                                                              Dan

good question that has gotten some attention lately.  I think that it depends on many factors including how big you were, age and how lucky you are in the skin snapping back category.  I think that most of us have the pouch left.  Some have dealt with it during their stomach PS.  That is the route I think I am going to have to do.  Good luck.  Scott Thanks for the reply lets see how big am I? Well down here in the deep south they would say that I am full growed. But on a serious note I am 6'7" in the 450 range.

Yep, that qualifies as full grown where I come from. Fat Pad?  Still got mine, though it is a bit saggier (is that a word?)

Hey Dan, Everything is realative, as you know, and that is what people will always say, but for me, 5'6" amd 365#, now i'm just under 2 years out.....down to 160ish The "Mons" area, or "Mound of Venus" (ain;t that special)...for me I noticied it start to deflate within about 4 months... that gave me more access to the area for more "recreational activities"....but the deflated balloon never left, mine was huge, even after loosing 200#, that was whee the fat seperated from the body and hung...(sorry this got really graphic really quick) 7 weeks ago, they went in a chopped it off, and my doc is good, but there is only so much that you can do at one time.... so in about 6 months, looks like he wants to "re-vistis" the area... hope this is the info you wanted.....of course as Dxe say...your milage may vary Russ

Unfortunately there is no exercise that will help with spot reduction, and it may or may not go away as you lose weight.  Some of the men on the forum have it addressed when they have their LBL or TT after they lose all their weight.   At that time the surgeon can easily lipo it, and remove the excess skin.  Scott

Thanks Guys  It is nice knowing that there are others that have had this same concern. As far as the skin being able to bounce back or skin elasticity as they call it I should be in pretty good shape there. I don't have any stretch marks. I seem to have lost the six pack from my abs and have picked up the whole keg instead.

Dan, I went from around 385+ to 179lbs. as to the 'Pubic pillow?'  Mine went away considerably, But still had some there even after the loss. Still, The "rule of thumb" that seems to hold true for most, Is about an extra ½ inch of ‘useable goober,’ for every 35 to 50 pounds lost. All skin has about a 3 to 6 month "lag-time" behind the loss of fat tissue. It’ll keep ‘drawing up’ for that long after the weight is stable. I had a panniculectomy done in July and the doc removed extra leftover skin from my pubic mound as well.  Extra inch and a half over night! If the docs would just put this info in their brochures men would be beating the doors down to have Weight-loss surgery. (or their wives would be dragging them in) Yep, this is the right Board for this question…obviously… Best Wishes- Dx

The good news: I have lost about 90 pounds so far, so that is about an extra inch. The bad news: The wife now says I need to lose another 300 pounds!  LOL! JP
