Lost 25 pounds in 3 weeks - surgery next week
1,000 calories per day - lots of water, high protein, and practically no carbs. I had my sister and her kids come over and clean out my house of all the crap, and filled the fridge with protein shakes and water bottles. I have frozen chicken and fish in the freezer - tuna in water - skim milk cheese sticks. My BMI was 58, and I weighed 547 - my surgeon told me that doing this prior to surgery would shrink my liver and greatly increase my chances of a sucessful Lap. i do not want to have an open incision, so I did what he told me. The first few days sucked - but, I stuck with it, and I'm thrilled with the results. I hope it pays off, and my surgeon can do the scope next week instead of the open incision.
Way to go TM.
You are going to do great my friend. You have your mind set on loosing and loosing will happen.
I was 450 lbs on the day of surgery 15 months ago and now I am down to 248. I can not tell you how great that feels, and the same is going to happen to you especially since you are going into this with a very positive attitude and determination.
My prayers go out for you for an uneventful surgery next week and that they can do the lap instead of open. I went into the operating not knowing which way the surgeon would be going. She told me this before surgery so when I woke up I would not be surprised. She told my wife that it took a little longer then most surgeries but she was able to do it by lap.
We have a locker here just waiting for your return.
Dan

Chuck, Congratulations! 25 pound in 3 weeks is terrific. Being able to maintain a 1000 calorie/day pre-op diet is not easy. In fact it is damn difficult. It sounds like you are dedicated to the quest and are doing everything you need to do to be successful. You have the right stuff to make the journey.
May Your Lantern Burn Bright,

Hey Dude,
You are really working the program, getting the crap out of the house is a great idea....one thing that I think we have all come to agree on , the diet starts at the grocery store,
If you don;t buy it, you can't put it in your mouth....remember, when some one asks, how much have you lost....addd these pounds, these are hell pounds, and we count them...
