Hello from Bangkok

Hi Guys, I am now in Bangkok and will be here for 5 days.  My luggage finally caught up with me.  So I am really happy about that. Everything has been going very well.  There are many health choices and foods that I like.  And the hotels have health clubs and pools, so I can get my exercise in. I was a little nervous traveling internationally being only 7-8 weeks out.  But I am very confident about things now.  In fact, I think it helped me bounce back even stronger after the surgery. I'm feeling better than I have in years.

Dx, It is really amazing.  I weighed myself this morning on the scale in my hotel room.  It read 133 kg.  So I went to the web for the conversion.  It was 292 lbs.  I weighed myself before I left home about 9 days ago and was 312 on my bathroom scale. So, either the room scale is broken, or I lost 20 lbs. while on the road.  I have ramped up my exercise a lot.  And, I feel that I did lose another 2 inches in my waist.  So it might be possible. I am a university administrator--Director of Admissions for Graduate Programs.  And, I am responsible for undergraduate and graduate international student recruitment.  So it appears that we both work in the same industry--higher education.

My wife and I were bad in Pat Pong - we went to one of the bars where girls shoot out ping pong balls and blow darts.

And...the food was good, too.

Dave, That must have been an interesting visit.  i know the area and the array of entertainment available.  I once went to what was referred to as a "no hands" club.  The customers were not allowed to use their hands to consume their food or drinks.  That was so you could use them for anything else that you wanted to. Of course, once I found out what kind of club it actually was, I did not stick around.  Some friends thought I would get a kick out of it.

So kicking was allowed if your didn't cover your face with your hands??? Which part of this was the higher educations part? So much culture I've missed.

Joe,

It's usually a room chock full of topless women, just waiting to take about $12 from you for a variety of services...
