Political Correctness

Guys: The dicussion sparked by brokeback mountain has caused me to appreciate this forum even more. One thing I was struck by is that on it's surface: "THE MENS FORUM" is in fact politically incorrect at it's core. Those who are offended by  everyday schoolyard "jokes" ; should be offended that this forum excludes women. I have never seen them post that we should stop excluding women.. WHY???.. Is this not a double standard? A community such as ours ( men's forum) takes on the personality and vibe of it's members.. and quite frankly.. I love it. Another interesting self revealing observation is that I am not a practicing chrisitan... I believe in my higher power and ask him everyday in prayer and meditation to help me do what is right.. I am more of a UNITY GOD GUY.. respecting everyone's pathway to God. I bring this up because I am sometimes intinidated by you guys who are so good at quoting the Bible... however.. my reaction is not one of .. judgement... but of respect for your dedication...so please keep enlightining me with your teachings, observations and lessons.. Kevin, Someone once said, "Comedy is not pretty". In this age of divisiveness, red state, blue state madness. Christian vs. muslim vs. jew world we live in, it's refreshing to find a place we can let it all out- wrinkles, warts, stretch marks and all, and laugh at whatever strikes us as funny. It bothers me when we start judging one another based on stereo-types, and labels others have placed on us. I'm so burned out on political correctness and diversity, sensitivity issues. Why can't a guy just drop the B.S., and say whats on his mind, without running everything through a PC filter?  I agree, if your thin skinned- this site may not be for you. If you enter this locker room, your probably gonna get stung by the snap of a rhetorical towel.  Snap back, or walk... but for Christ sakes, QUIT YOUR WHINING! DD

Dave, remember back in the day when buckeye would get a hold of someone? we could sure use him back here. i tried to get in touch with him but i think he's gone. point is, we've got a good group and I think they can stand up for anything.

Yeah, old Buckeye would set 'em straight. But I think the fellows here now do just as well. It's true, there's a good bond here.

I get the feeling there might have been a few guys sitting around lurking and not posting, because they thought we were a bunch of ex-fat Boss Hawg type bible-beltin' rednecks.

What could be further from the truth?

I am not a fan of political correctness.  And I love this site.

Part of the reason this forum is not considered politically incorect is that men are a minority as far as WLS goes.  Just as its ok to have a Miss Black America contest.  Women can't possibly be offended or threatened that we have this small area to call our own when just about every other forum on OH is dominated by them.  Just my thoughts on the subject.
