I agree with you that it is sad that this lady did not  have the opportunity to loose the weight and benefit from being smaller.

My wife and I stopped by the hospital where I had my surgery done back in Nov and as usual I try and take the time to visit the paitients on the Bariactic ward.  There was a young lady there probably in her 30's.  She told me that she had the surgery because she had a bad heart and had to loose weight to get a heart transplant since she was on the donners list.   Her surgery went well for her after surgery.  Unfortunately Mary passed away 5 weeks after her surgery of a heart attack.   I thought how tragic that she probably waited to long to do something about her weight.  She was a short and very big lady.

My point here in this post is directed to those who drop by our site who are thinking about doing something about their obesity.  DON'T WAIT TO LONG TO DO SOMETHING, it could be fatal.

Her BMI was 137.5. clearly it was a high risk surgery. she was 5ft 5 inches.

That is really too bad. I agree that it's important not to wait too long before doing something when your weight is getting out of control. I'm glad I had my surgery when I did. my BMI was over 50 and I was sliding fast.
