Had my lap RNY Wednesday at Durham Regional. Home Friday afternoon.  Tim A and Bob M came by the hospital to see me -- talk about an unexpected surprise!  Observations -- gas pain sucks big time, but moving around helps a lot. Doing my best to move around, get my protein and fluids in, and use the spirometer. Each day is, thank God, a little better. Thanks to all, and will keep you posted. Jeff Honeyman

Jeff                                  Glad you had an uneventful surgery and your back home.  The best way to get rid of the gas pain is to walk and let it rip.  Not to many people will want to walk behind you for awhile.                                            Dan

Jeff I was pleased to learn that you got through the surgery well.  These next few weeks are going to have some unpleasant moments, but I promise it gets better.  As for the gas pains I had them for about 1.5 days after I got home and to be honest the gas pain was worse than any other part of the whole ordeal.  The good news is that it does go away.   Best wishes on your recovery and weight loss my friend.  You are in for a ride.   Scott p.s. Hospital visits from Tim A and Bob M!  Are those guys cool or what.

Hey Jeff, congrats on the uneventful surgery.  Home in 2 days.  That's awesome.  You are doing great.  First two weeks are the toughest.  Once you can get to soft foods things get a lot better.  Don't be a stranger on the boards and watch your energy levels.  Fluids and protein are both important, but the fluids are most important right now.  Don't lose sleep if you don't get all the protein this week.  Get as much as you can, but make sure you get all your fluids. Welcome once again to the loser's bench Greg

Hey Jeff!   Glad you made it home ok.  You were looking really good Wednesday night, a lot better than I remember feeling. Keep moving, bro, and the gas will move it's way around and out.   Glad we were able to surprise you.  There ain't many of us guys, so we gotta stick together and help each other out. Talk with you soon. Bob

Hey Jeff, Welcome to the WLS Brotherhood of the Scar... Good to see you made it home this weekend!! You were doing great Weds. night when we stopped by so I was sure you would be out of the hospital by Friday. Dr. Pryor does very good work. I asked Bob Saturday if he had heard from you. Keep moving bro, it really helps. The more you sit around the house the longer it takes to recover IMO. Luckly the weather in Raleigh is going to be nice this week so as soon as you feel like it start walking to the end of your block. Lot of water sippping and plenty of FARTs for everyone. You'll be amazed how much better you'll feel in a week. Drop me a line if you need anything. I sent you a OH email message with my phone numbers and home email address. Good Luck bro....
