Thrift Store Bonanza

I took the advice of a couple of our fellow men's board veterans and have been hitting the local thrift stores for clothes.  I am finding a lot of good stuff and want to encourage you guys to check them out if you are going through clothes the way I am.   I spent $30 a couple of days ago and got 3 undershirts, a brand new polo style shirt, 2 Ralph Lauren sweaters, a Banana Republic sweater, two of those cool t-shirts that are shiny and dry off right away if you swim in them, and one of those long sleeve t-shirts from Old Navy.  Iv'e never been so stylish.   The most famous designer I have worn for the last couple of years is a former boxer who sells grills on TV late at night.

Hi Scott, Until recently, I wore the same stylish boxer's stuff--along with my own "Homelss Orson Welles" look. My last pair of BIG PANTS (preserved for the record) had zillions of mends.

Isn't it great to be able to wear more normal clothes, even if we aren't exactly "normal"--thank goodness.

Scott, I know what you are talking about, I work at a thrift store and have saved myself a lot of money restocking my wardrobe. As an employee I get stuff even cheaper than regular customers and have taken advantage of the fringe benefit. For a while after I started working there I didn't have any clothes that  I had purchased at full price. Most of my wardrobe is pre-worn, but I don't care- although I will not buy used underwear or socks. Stay Well Woody

Scott, Thank you.  That is an excellent suggestion.  I've been trying to figure out how to cope with all of these changing sizes.  I just bought new pants 3 weeks ago and they are already too big.
