Another smelly FART this past weekend
Sorry that it's taken so long to get around to posting this. I spent Saturday and Sunday taking Live Burn training for my fire department. It's loud, smelly, scary, and one heck of a mindf*#%. You walk into a small room with 300K BTU (yeah bigguns) propane flames that you have to control with a hose. It's bootcamp for volunteer firemen.
My chief was surprised that I even wanted to take it; he warned me that it was very demanding physically. Well, it was, but I had no problem doing my share of the work.
Now I have to quit having those dragon dreams...
Yeah I remember my propane fire training when I lived in PA. We did a propane tanker sim it damn near melted my helmet sheild. I sure do miss them days tho. Sounds like you kicked it's as@ tho, keep up the good work.

Hey Bob, congrats. What a great feeling to know you can do what the other guys do in your training. You bring up a good point though about the chief. Some people will continue to see us at our old weights even though we have become only part of the man we used to be. It will take some time for those people to adjust....and often takes them longer than it does us.
Congrats

Well, he never saw me ginormous; he was reacting more to the arthritis I have in my hips. I have absolutely no problems walking running, riding a bike, etc, but twisting my legs is painful. He knows that I have a hell of a time getting off my @ss when I have on full gear and an airpack. I kneel a lot instead...
