Hi all.  Just wanted to say hello.  I'm set for Lap RNY 2 weeks from tomorrow (3/14), and so far things are all going great.   I'm on my high protein (1000 per day) diet, and am learning a lot and getting my house prepped.   I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions in the days and weeks to come.  I'm glad I found the site........ Hi Chuck,

Welcome to the board and on the journey. I had my surgery about 1 day after yours (really two days, if you use my Japanese time zone). It is a good time of the year to have surgery, because by the time summer hits, you'll pretty much be healed and raring to go. Two weeks is quite sufficient to get a modest improvement in fitness, might want to take on some kind of low impact exercise endeavor, such as a water workout, if you haven't already. We're ready for any posts, questions you might have.

Best Wishes,

Dave

Congrats on your surgery guys. Mines is April 2nd. Hey Chuck, can you explain more about your high protein diet? I'm in need of help in that category.

Congrats on your date Chuck! Welcome to the locker room. Ask anything and everything, not much you could ask that hasn't been an issue with one or another around here. Take care of yourself and hollar if you need anything. 4bengals

Thank you all for your well-wishes.   As far as my pre-op diet, my surgeon said "don't go over 1000 per day (5 protein shakes per day, or 3 protein shakes and 2 healthy choice entrees per day).  So far it's been easy - he stressed that the low calorie/high protein diet will help my liver to shrink so they can do the scope, and not an open incision.  So - I have a fridge full of protein shakes (chop up some bananas and put in a freezer bag, and add a chunk or two to the protein shake and blend to make it thinker and add flavor).   I finalized my loan with the credit union today, and had (passed) my psych eval.   And, the hospital called for pre-registration.   The only thing left is my Upper GI x-rays, and Gall Bladder ultrasound.   It's nice to keep checking thingsoff the list - and, it's sinking in that I'm really doing this in 13 days. Thanks again for the repies and the support.  Chuck
