http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1303681&page=2 That is the link to my marathon report with about 15 pictures.  It is long and if you are not me it is probably fall asleep boring. Here is the short version: I was the race leader for about 6 miles and improved my time by over 20 minutes from Disney.  It hurt.  Bad!  Fortunately it was not a stop hurt, just a misery hurt.  Up next is the Danbury, CT half.  That one I am doing for time. Thanks Scott

I do a lot of that too.  I was surprised that they could mine salt from my legs when I was done.  Scott

Scott,

Way to keep going on the marathon project! So are you addicted to running yet? Something about it is fun, possibly even without the endorphins.

There are memories of feeling like my legs were just "carrying me" along without much conscientious effort on my part. I could ponder the things that were going on in my life during the hours I ran. I used to live in this little podunk town here and I would get up in the morning and put in 2-3 hours in the hills, I loved it so much. Nowadays, I love the daily 30 minute jogs before the weight routine. When I was doing my once a week run at 280, it was murder, now it feels like a joywalk. Since I've started doing this, the weight just peels off, almost like the first several months post-op.

I used to notice that when my knees were sore, a good bike ride or even a swim were good cross-training. Both are much better for (some even say healing to) the knees and ankles.

Good work man. 20 minutes off is huge!

Dave

It is funny that I was a little disappointed at first but when I realized that it is about 50 seconds per mile quicker, that put it into perspective.  It was a good time. I can't say that I'm addicted but I do look forward to the shorter runs.  I mostly look forward to races and improving my times.  They say that you get better for seven years before you are maxed out.  Six to go.  Thanks a lot Scott
