hey David, I'll have to work on a before pic in my profile but I'm only 5'8" and i weighed in at 286#. so basically, i looked like a ball. i ran into a friend, while hiking with one of my dogs, and he had not seen me since the surgery and he kept going on about how he knows someone with the same dog as mine! then i told him it was me. he just about crapped right there. very funny. anyway, it is possible to look like you've always been in shape. that's the beauty of this. of course, the heavier you are the more you're going to need ps to take care of the loose skin. i could use a tuck but i'm debating on it for now. i went from a 52 to 32 waist so i'm pretty thin and didn't start out over 300# which probably helped. anyway, got to run but hang in there. keep coming here if you can't a guys group.....Carbonblob

Hi david, all of this advice is good.  Sounds like you NEED to get outdoors.  Walking is best,, for sure.  Even if it is good, you area an outdoorsman.  Take multiple walks a day outside or at the mall.  Main thing is get out among people, bu****ch your stamina.  It is frustrating at first because you feel so week and it comes on quickly.  Just make sure you are getting your protein.  Champion Nutrition Pure Whey Stack worked really well. Congrats on being on the losing side.

Hey David, You sound familiar…. I’m 6’1" and started at a little under 400lbs.  Had RNY myself... I’m now 181lbs, where I’ve been (give or take 5lbs) for nearly 3 years. I’ve just turned 50 this summer. My advice?- For this early out recovery boredom, rent DVD’s of EVERYTHING! Catch up on all the HBO series you’ve ever missed… And get out and walk when you can. You’ll feel better each day. But "The" Advice? Think in "Long-term" goals…. The weight will come off early on pretty much no matter what you do. Setting up new eating habits during these first 6 months Will make the following years easy. I only want to add- Welcome to "The Men’s Board!"

Hope you find all of the experience, info and support this bunch has to offer. Best Wishes- Dx
