Hi Guys, Well I am home today and can actually look at the board and respond. Tomorrow is the next part of this journey.  I am having a pannilectomy with some abdomonoplasty and a bilateral mastopexy at 7:30 timorrow morning.  Two surgeons are going to be in the operating room together, one doing the mastopexy (my chest) the other surgeon doing the pannilectomy.  So liquids today and then the clean out later this afternoon. They are expecting me to be on the table about 4 hours since it is basically two surgeries. I am going through everything I went through before my RNY.  I am excited, anxious, nervous, just want it all done.  I guess I am lucky because I really have no fear of the surgery its the pain after I wake up that worries me......but a couple weeks of pain and then the rest of my life with a flat stomach.    The surgeon promises that I will have a flat stomach, no more love handles and a nice chest.  He says I will go down another 3 to 4 sizes (down 9 already).   Because of other scars (gallblader, apendix, hernia) I can't have a bikini cut so I will have a scar across my stomach.......I am 51 years old where am I going without a shirt.???......all I care is that I will be able to tuck in........NO MORE SWEATERS to cover my stomach!!!!    LOL Well guys thanks for all the support this board gives.   I can't come on much anymore because work has blocked it, but once I get home from the hospital I will be around for about 4 weeks.....so I will be checking in. Again thanks! Alan

Alan, Have the Greatest!! My Panniculectomy was a Breeze!!!! Much Less Pain than I Ever imagined!!! And the “instant” difference is so much different than the RNY---

Which is a big surgery to re-coop from, followed by progress over the next year. The PS is surgery, followed by some weeks of swelling, But the results come home with you!!! --Extra inch(es) to “Mr. Happy” from day one!!! Same advice- Stay Hydrated, Get your rest, Get in some walking, Be a Germ-Killer, Take it easy, Pass the Gas, Keep your protein levels High to speed healing, Keep the Doc on “Speed-Dial,” Follow Doc’s orders, etc… The scars get less and less noticeable for the first 9 months. Ice pack with some soft ice helps the swelling a lot. The drains Suk, but once they come out, it’s a speedier time to feeling great! Even if you’re ready for it, The Swelling will last longer than you imagine. Let us know when you’re through. We’ll keep you in our prayers! Bets wishes- Dx
