Wednesday's the day!
Getting ready to take the deep breath and dive off the 20-foot board! My RNY is Wednesday, and I'm nervous/psyched/edgy/can't wait -- all the emotions you can think of, except one. I am not at all afraid. I told my wife that if I die on the table, which we both know is highly unlikely, that at least I will have died doing what was right. Faith takes many forms, and we each find our own path, that's how we're made. Going into this, I have faith that having the surgery is the correct next step along my own path. I look forward to joining the loser's bench, and can't wait until the time when my ass is so bony it hurts to sit there. Thanks for all the support you've given to this point (even when I was lurking and you didn't know you were giving it). Today's my last unrestricted day; gotta do the clear liquids and go through the, ahem, cleanout tomorrow. I bet my 15-year-old son $5 that I'd be five pounds lighter at 9pm than at 7am. Smart move? Today: 316. Goal 160. Cowabunga! Jeff Honeyman
You are definitely making the right choice my friend. The term I used to describe all the emotions leading up to surgery day is ROLLERCOASTER!! We, as human beings have an overwhelming tendency to psych ourselves out over stuff and by the time it's all over, said, and done with, it was really no biggie at all. Seems like a pretty solid bet to me, but you may be surprised though. I'll get the guys to get your locker ready over here on the Loser's Bench in the meantime. Best of luck to you and we'll see ya on the losing side.

I CAN CHANGE, I WILL CHANGE, AND I WILL BE HAPPY WITH WHO I AM.
Hi Jeff,
That 5 lbs? No problem...Good luck in surgery. If you can keep of the simple carbs, flour and stuff and exercise, I believe you can choose your bodyweight.
160? No problem. I started at 280 and I'm finding if I exercise 30 minutes every day and don't eat much sugar flour or other simple carbs, the weight comes off. You may have a plateau or two along the way, but in the long run the choice will be yours.
Looking forward to having you back here and that "Why does my a$$ hurt?" post that everyone does a few months out.
Dave
