Hey guys, Just finding so much comfort right now being here with you guys. I've never experienced this before. I wanted to say thanks again for the millionth time for being there for me in what has to be our darkest hour. ok, enough of that, posting here just helps me to feel normal so this is what I want to post......... I'm off all narcotic pain meds as you know and we're going to try a new therapy. It's called interferential electrical therapy. basically they wire my nuts together and shock the F out me so I forget about my back! cool huh? Ok, well they place electrodes in my back or i can wear a harness and then i wear device about the size of a small transistor radio, **** that's what they say, who the hell has one of these anymore? well, i wear this thing and unlike some of you who've worn TENS units, this new type of therapy goes way deep with a much different wave sine. they basically cancel each other before it hits the spine. i can't wait. this might be the miracle i've been waiting for. no more drugs, how cool. so maybe this will work. of course it's expensive so i'm waiting for the company rep to call, set an appointment for a home demo then tell me to pull my pants around my ankles and bend over and put my wallet in my crack. and that's with insurance! so, let's see how this works. i'll send a link to their web site if i go for it. this thing works for all your limbs, hands whatever is wrong. so this might be something for you other guys to talk about. you know what's really something? my pain doc was going to pull me off all meds at our next meeting and try this anyway! i just beat him to the punch. he said there's no way i should go on living like this. he really honored me and my work ethic and that's why he kept trying to keep me pain free but in his heart he said he couldn't go on. wow, we had a great talk and did a manly hug at the end. we both took responsibility for my addiction but we put it behind us. man, i'm very excited. now on another note........ thanks so much for your warm words about our Chili. we're measuring in days now but i can pull it together for this moment to say thank you so much for letting me come here and spill my feelings. it's so new to me but i'll never forget the love you guys have sent to me and my family over the past 3 weeks. take care........Fred

Hey CB, A while back...further.....further.....yea about then. I was having physical therapy with a guy that had electrodes implanted inside him. He fell on ice and broke his back; ended up with 5 fused discs after surgery. He had a remote that turned them on and off, when it was on his pain was 100% gone. His doctor wanted him to use it for 4 hours, then go 4 hours without it. Due to when his battery died, he would have to endure surgery to replace it.  His device sounds exactly like yours, except for the surgery part. I hope it alleviates the pain completely.  I never posted about poor Chili; I'm a fellow dog lover and I've had to let go of some wonderful family members in the past myself. We currently have a  1 1/2 year-old Chihuahua named "Rusty". He thinks he one of the kids. We don't have the heart to tell him any different. Picture080.jpg We named him Rusty because of his 'rusty' coloring around his snout, ears, and legs.

Day of surgery weight  352
Current weight 250
Total Lost 102
Height 6'3"
BMI 31

hey Ron, thanks so much for thinking of Chili. we just got off the phone with our vet. he's been researching like crazy. our goal is just to keep him comfortable. sad beyond belief but you know what i mean. rusty is very funny! I've had two chihuahuas when i was a little kid. my brother had allergies so we could only have a small dog. i loved them so much. so playful and loving. well, if this back device thing is going to be such a big deal it better come with a button that produces and instant hard on or something amusing! cya later.....Carbonblob

Hey Fred,

Glad to hear things are looking up. The pain was my main worry. With your willpower, I knew the addiction part would be something you could overcome. Hope Chili's not suffering.

thanks Dave, i sure hope you're doing better. you sound pretty bad but see my reply to you earlier. i'm doing very good with the detox and see no problems. it's hard but i'll do it. we would never let Chili suffer and I know you know that. he'll tell us when enough is enough. gail, myself and the vet, who's a personal friend are researching every avenue to help him be comfortable because it's just not in the cards to recover. he's still with us and that's all i care about. thanks for asking.....Carbonblob

See Fred, I'm  a big, "another door will open" kind of a guy.  I'm thinking this is your new door...good luck with it, I sure hope it's leading you to a great drug, and pain, free life!!!

thanks so much. you know it's like our surgery in a way, a lot of hoops and insurance crap to even get the rep in my doorway. so once i get past that hurdle then maybe i'll see relief. right now it's very hard on me because I have NO drugs that relieve pain. so i want this damn thing hooked up like yesterday. i'll be so happy if this works and no more drugs....Carbonblob
